My first Pokemon Go Hunt

For the very first time since I downloaded the popular mobile app in Aug, I thought of going for a little hunt for the Charmander since it was very near home!

So, today I went but alas, I was not very prepared, as it was an impulse decision made, you'll see why...

I was wearing heels and dress! (Lol, the dressing must have looked really inappropriate... DC teased that I might be stomped! :P)

Also saw a lot of people there with me, all looking for the little fiery creature... after some time I figured out who were those with the map. Knowing that they knew the location of these pokemons, I followed them...the hunt became easier and not just based on blind walking hoping to bump into the pokemon... :)

I decided to walk back home (in my heels!) and I paid the price -  my feet hurts by the time I got home! :(

But, apart from that, I did enjoy the scenic walk at the MacRitchie Reservoir and had fun catching the 6 Charmanders! I even got my silver medal for the fire-type Pokemon!

It has been quite a while since we both catch a movie together! And, it's a Tom Cruise movie (still a charmer)... always love a thriller with good looking pair - Cobie Smulders looked great too!

Some parts of the story was a little familiar and made me relate to the movie "Taken".

EDM music

Never knew they sound so good ... I used to give such music a miss but lately these EDM tunes had been so so good!

Best ever - Faded by Alan Walker. I had been listening to it over and over again and never got tired of it. It truly made one to want to dance!

The next single by Alan Walker is Sing Me to Sleep. Equally good!

I didn't remembered watching the earlier movie, it's definitely not with DC, we hadn't even meet then!

I always like watching a disaster film, especially when there's one with an actor from my country and scenes of my country inside. :)

Not a bad movie, we'll be waiting for the sequel to come soon, not 20 years please.

Cartoon night with the kids

Been letting the kids watched a series of Disney cartoons lately. I watched Beauty and the Beast with them tonight. Wow, I was blown away with the animation, songs and colours, especially the ballroom scene. This was the 1st time I watched it. Needless to say, the kids enjoyed this very much. I can see A's eyes gleaming when the movie ended!

What better thing to do on our anniversary celebration than to watch an action movie together? :)

It's been a trend lately to gather characters from different superhero movies to be casted in a single movie. It's quite a feat to see the superheroes you all in the same space but then, you'll struggle with who to support when they stood on different sides! :)

Anniversary at Andre

There was always a hype with Andre. We first tried his creations at Jaan back in 2009. Quite impressed, especially with the Snickers dessert.

For our wedding ROM anniversary this year, we decided to give it a try. I had to make reservations about 3 weeks earlier to secure a booking for lunch. There is also a deposit to confirm that reservation. The 5 course set menu is priced at $198++.

Semi-hidden entrance to Andre. Valet parking is available for $8. I would have preferred it to be complimentary, like what Gunther's provided. It's a rather small and cosy place. Probably about 10 tables or so.

Seafood tamara with gluten bun

I don't even know where to start? Do you even eat the leaves?

Abalone, liver, cripsy kombu, fish n chips

I can only say each portion is delicately small. I probably give a thumbs up to the presentation and the thought that went into each dish.

Dry aged scallop, textures of mushroom and toufu

Oyster tartare, pork broth

I quite like this. The butternut squash is crunchy and goes well with the beef tongue and sauce. Slurped it all up.
Burnt beef tongue salad, ruban of butternut squash.
Baked chicken breast in bread. This made the chicken meat very tender, unlike the normal expectation of breast meat.
Salt baked poulet

Salt baked poulet

Something special for the occasion.

Seems more like a snack ...
Milk skin, buttermilk curd

A music box to go with dessert but it's meaning is lost on me ...

Honey ice-cream on raspberry ice.

Not a very well-done latte art. $10++, not worth.

Petit Fours

With the chef himself. It's really good that he came out to meet the clients. It's always good to see the face behind the fine food.

Staycation at Fairmont

The much anticipated staycation turned out to be quite a damper when A developed high fever just days before the stay!

The last time we went (last year) he had fever too! However, it did not stop him from eating the chips with gusto later on ...

The Fairmont Premier room. Newly renovated. However, this was much smaller than the Premier room we stayed in last year. Room rate is $248++, includes breakfast. I had a room upgrade using a Feed at Raffles voucher.

I really liked this soap! Le Labo Rose 31. Can't seem to find it anywhere in Singapore.

Our signature photo. This was a rather impromptu pose by the kids but it turned out to be the best.

In-room dining. I had bourbon coke, CP had Singapore Sling and we all had chips.

Dinner was at Prego's. I found out that OCBC had a better offer than Feed at Raffles' discount. 30% off compared to FAR's 25%. Good. My parents joined us too and they were pretty ok with the food.

A had seabass and a bit of spaghetti from B's plate. Rather expensive for the little portion of fish though.

Delicious bread.

I found we kept ordering back the same appetizers. Maybe because they were good ... here was poached octopus - Insalata di Polpo.

Pan-seared scallops - Capesante.

Seared foie-gras. Good, cripsy on the outside, soft on the inside - Fegato Grasso.

Linguine Vongole e Bottarga - Too salty. Now I faintly remembered we did say it was salty before ... oops ... hopefully not for the next time. It did go well with the bread.

Hawaii pizza. I liked thin-crust pizzas!

Roasted pork belly - Pancetta de Maiale. Very good. Crispy skin with juicy fats and succulent meat.

Desserts, pana cotta. Nice, milky and creamy.

Of course, we all liked the tiramisu!

Nothing much had changed at Prego's after all these years.

The bar Anti:dote seemed interesting. So after a short rest, we headed down for drinks. The kids were wild over the chips again. B even took the empty bowl to ask for seconds.

CP had the Corpse Reviver ... It's sour ...  No wonder it could bring the dead back to life!

I had the Marina Julep ... It tasted like medicine :(

The kids munching on the chips like there was no tomorrow.

Breakfast was good. Good selection of food.
