Nerd Look for us?
Yesterday, DC brought me to a spectacle shop at a shopping mall near our place and I spent sometime looking at the thick black-framed glasses, while he looked at the sunglasses.
I took some photos there.
Today, we went photo studio to select photos and I remembered one of A's photos had this nerdy specs on him. :)
Some months back, B's baby sitter sent me this photo they took of B:
I love how we look in nerdy specs!
What about daddy? Hmm, he's nerdy enough without the specs, haha.... just kidding. He's already wearing his every day! :)

Red Headband
This is my 2nd Attempt at making a flower headband for B.
This time, I used a red 50% silk and 50% viscose yarn. The end product looked a little different from the last time maybe because of the material used. But, it came out nice too. I'm satisfied with the result!

Now, B doesn't have a lot of red tops or dresses to match with this headband... Time to shop for one! :P

I'm Crocheting
Yes, I'm in the mood for a mini handicraft project and this time, I've chosen to crochet a headband for B! :)
First I bought yarn and hook. I remembered there was one shop in Tiong Bahru Plaza but was disappointed to find that the shop has closed down long ago! Then, I recalled there was one at Tanglin Mall. I got a ball of mixed pink yarn and hook:

Then I started working on the headband (14 inches):

Followed by the flower:

Lastly, I sewed a button on the headband and fixed the flower in.

Tata, the end product on B's head!

I love how it turned out! :)
Looking at how much yarn was left, I decided not to waste it and made another 2 more (13 inches and 15 inches) for my two nieces.

Scarf Play
Her World magazine Apr 2012 issue is giving out a free scarf by local designers with every purchase.

3 innovative ideas of wearing a scarf are provided and there is a contest with prizes to be won by the participant who can come up with the most creative way to wear a scarf. The contest is ending in a few days and I'm so amazed by some of the ways suggested!
As a Shrug.

Lay the scarf out flat, length-wise and knot two ends together.
As a Necklace.

Fold scarf lengthwise until it becomes a thin long strip. Knot a big knot right in the middle for a start, and knot as many or as little knots as you like after. Make sure the space between each knot is equal so it won’t end up looking messy.
As a Bag!

Lay the scarf flat, in a diamond shape with one corner pointed at you. Take two opposite ends of the scarf and twist them over each other but do not knot them. Then, take the two untied ends and knot them together while holding the two other ends in each hand and you’ll have your emergency bag.
The question is How many of us really wears a scarf? Even if we do, I guess we'll still be doing it the same old conventional ways, no?
