Hong Kong Trip 12 Mar 2014 - 15 Mar 2014

"Good Bonding and Revisiting Fun", rather than the infamous "买东西吃东西" would be the tagline for this trip.

The kids had their naps and meals very well, better than expected and 托他们的福, I also enjoyed the same resting time as them. :)

Day 1:
Like last year, we took a limousine (or white bus, what A described) to the airport.

A family picture at the airport before departure:

At the airport, A and B took their bread-fast. I was surprised to find a children playground at the airport. the kids had fun there esp. B. She didn't want to leave the slide!

Both A and B took the window seats and I was glad they were able to sit through most part of the flight. I had to get an infant seat belt for B as she was restless towards the end of the flight and was fidgeting around, asking to sit on my lap. Here's B digging into her ice-cream:

The cool weather was just what we were looking for in Hong Kong. The weather back home was just too hot. We donned the jackets on the kids and off we went to our hotel - HK Disneyland hotel.

Here's A posing with "Minnie" in the hotel:

The kids had their nap in the hotel. Then, at night, we went out for dinner at the Harbor City. We were there for Dr Kong shoes and for the laser shows at the river bank. But both were disappointing. Look at the 2, up to their mischief, running around while waiting for the laser show.

The dinner was, however a pleasant surprise! We decided to walk into a Vietnamese restaurant and the kids love the noodles! :)

When we got back, we decided to explore the hotel further and walked into the souvenir shop at the hotel. Look at the picture to see what A and B wanted to get for themselves. Hmm, DC and I did consider to get it for them but dropped the idea later on... we got A a set of 3 Disney Cars instead.

Day 2:
We went Disneyland hotel for breakfast buffet and the kids had picture taking sessions with the disney cartoon characters. We saw three: Goofy, Daisy and Mickey. Of these 3, B was super terrified with Goofy and screamed the moment Goofy walked near! Daisy was alright for her but she wouldn't step near her. Mickey was the one that got her hug. A was quite ok with all three and he was in fact quite fascinated at where they were and waited anticipatedly at their arrival. My two babies have grown up, not the same scaredy cats like last year!

After the breakfast, we set off to the big playground - the Disneyland. :) A had always love the rides but B was still a little jittery about taking boat rides and watching fireworks... until she discovered for herself that these are not as scary as she thought.. and then she enjoyed them all, including the car and horse rides. Here's them on the ponies.

DC got his hands on his most craved Disneyland food - Turkey leg before we went back hotel to catch a nap! :) We went back for dinner and the fireworks.

Day 3:
It was cold this day!

We went to Maxim Palace restaurant - still as nice, all dishes were so nice that I'm going to brand this as my favorite dim sum restaurant in Hong Kong! :)

The kids running around at the open square outside the building... I just love to see them so happy. :)

DC led us to the nearest MTR station and we took a train back to our hotel. It was a nice change instead of the buses and taxis that we took the past two days. My in-laws did not alight with us, they went on ahead to see the big buddha at Nyong Ping at the Lantau Island. We took the kids back to the hotel for a rest.

While waiting for my in-laws to come back to the hotel, we took these pictures at the hotel lounge before setting off to have dinner... haha meet Mrs and Miss Mouse :)

We arrange to meet my family at HK for dinner - they came from Macau. A was very happy to see them there. Haha, I mistook my dad as some kid napper when he came over to carry my boy! Guess I was too paranoid but I quickly realized my mistake! :P

Day 4
Checking out day! See my helpful A with the luggage, which he later claimed is his! :)

We met my parents at the Hong Kong airport and we went to Maxim for lunch. The presentation of the food was so very different from the Maxim Palace that we went to the other day!

The kids napped in the airplane. That gave me time to watch the movie "Frozen" on the plane and enjoy the window sunset view!

After the trip, A was always asking to go back his Hong Kong Kong Kong... We were thinking of going back too! :)

Ah Boy's birthday lunch

Ah Boy turns 13 and gave a lunch treat at Mandarin Orchard hotel.
Happy 13th Birthday, Boy!
It was a great meal, the kids were behaving well and it was always nice to gather outside once in a while!

Us with our kids... this time, it was B and I who wore the same, unlike all times where A and DC wore exactly the same! Hehe...

After the meal, we brought the kids back for their naps. They had our permission to skip their lessons this afternoon. ;) We brought them downstairs to ride their kiddy car instead and they loved it!

It's long time since we last watched a movie together! Got to know of this movie from a colleague, which of course she said was nice...

What a coincidence, to have this movie shown in the heat of the missing flight MH370 incident! Makes people want to relate this movie to the possible happenings in the missing flight...

I always like to watch Liam Neeson's thriller (starting from Taken) and yah, you'll get the thrill out of this movie. I like that the ending is good... but there were some unexplained bits at the end of the movie that if included would make it more perfect. :)

Watching the Lego Movie with the kiddos

The LEGO Movie

CAST: Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Nick Offerman, Alison Brie, Charlie Day, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman
DIRECTOR: Phil Lord, Christopher Miller
LANGUAGE: English with Chinese subtitles
OPENING: 06 Feb 2014
RUNTIME: 100 mins

This original 3D computer-animated story follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.

=======================================================================

We brought the kids to watch this because everyone that went to this movie said "Everything was awesome!" but it was not so the case for us!

Both A and B were able to sit still for a while eating their popcorns but once the popcorns were finished, A told DC this: "Daddy, I want go home sleep"! Lol!

B didn't really appreciate the movie too, she was too small for that kind of content...

We ended up missing the last part and left off early.

But still, it was an experience for the kiddos. Err, I hope! ;)
