The Garden Spa

Hee hee... I've just treated myself to a spa yesterday, thanks to Her World magazine. If not for the promotion, maybe I would still be standing outside thinking whether or not to take the first step in.

I was lucky to have booked a slot on 30 Sep (the only day I was free) as that was the last day of the promotion. That day I jogged past the Spa when I suddenly remember about the promo... although all sweaty and breathless, I went in to enquire about the packages. When the appointment was fixed, I was surprised to see DC coming up... he had actually noticed that I was at the reception counter when he jogged past... Hee hee.. wanted him to join me but he was not free on that day.

The Spa is located right inside a park and the best part is: it's a stone throw's away from my house! Inside, it's is like a garden of its own. Oh, I so like the concept of a garden spa...It makes me feel as if I am in a resort, away from the bustling city... so serene and tranquil. A perfect place to de-stress! :)

My spa package starts with an authentic rich turmeric and rice scrub, followed by a cooling yoghurt mask and a firm Aramsa Touch massage and ended with an outdoor garden bath. The receptionists and therapist were all very polite and friendly. It was a great experience, especially the outdoor bath! Imagine bathing in the open! Haha...

Go try it out! It's highly recommended by me haha! :)

Farewell Lunch

My farewell lunch is held at Outback Steakhouse. I was quite satisfied with the food there. Since the ban of image capturing devices was implemented this week, I could not bring camera to office. So, I got DC to join us for lunch and haha, he became our photographer. :)

Wedding of Alan & Sheryl

Just attended one of my good friend's wedding. Hers is a church wedding held in Ritz Carlton Hotel. I simply love the splendorous tall ceiling and the cosy ambience there. The white and blue-dyed roses with lilies combination was perfect. Although held in the afternoon with lunch reception, the ceremony was handled with due formality. The overall mood was good. It was especially dear to have Pastor Lawrence and the church's musicians there... It does make both DC and me feel a bit guilty for not turning up regularly at the bible study and church service. :P

I've also met some friends which were last seen on my own wedding... one of them is expecting and due to deliver in another month! That's the good thing about attending weddings... You get to meet friends that you have not met for some time and catch up with them. :) Wonder who's next to get married?

The Strange Fellow

This morning on my way to work, I saw this strange man whom I never thought I would see again. This man seems to be in his fifties... Anyway, we were both walking up the overhead bridge when he suddenly come beside me and asked me for the time. When I turned my head to take a glance at him, I frozed there for a second before I recovered myself and shouted out the time to him. Wasn't this the man I had met about two years ago? On the same bridge, the same man with no shirt on and wearing the same pair of blue shoes actually asked me the same question two years later? The feeling was really strange and eerie... my hairs stood on ends for a moment. I don't know what he wants but he did frighten me a bit... I hastened my steps and when I was quite a distance away, I turned my head back to see if he is following behind me... luckily no... he had put on his shirt and was standing at the other end of the bridge maybe looking out for his next prey. I let out a cry of relief and carried on my way to the office only to feel safe when I finally reached the office building.

My two-time encounter with that man got me all scared and baffled by his illogical actions... How could a normal man enjoy taking off and on his clothes in front of a lady? What does he want to show and what could he get from it? Was he always like that? It actually worries me that he could be commiting the same act since I last see him two years ago. Hmmm...I wonder how many people had the same strange encounter with him? I hope I will not see him again.

I've quit my job

Yes, I've just tendered my resignation. By now, my family, some of my friends, colleagues and users have already known about this. A common question asked by them was: Why did I leave? Hmm... how should I put it?

It seems very inappropriate for me to leave at this point esp. when my project needs me and when my long service award and AWS are on the way but I feel that I've already reached the plateau and a change of environment would do me good. Afterall, I've been with my present company for 5 years already, it's time for me to be exposed to the outside world. Good opportunity doesn't knock twice and so, I've decided to grab hold of this chance. God bless my decision is not a wrong one and that it would bring me to greater heights.

My Shopping Spree @GG>5

I've always like the dresses from GG>5. Just recently, I went to the outlet that I frequent and caught my eyes on 5-6 dresses there. Finally, after much trying and elimination, I bought 3 of them home! Hee.. hee... can't help myself for splurging on these dresses! What an expensive indulgence! :P

First Visit to Liquid Kitchen@Thomson

It is our first time at the Liquid Kitchen@Thomson. This bar cum cafe place is quite cosy, I like the bright blue and orange colored decor. But strangely, it seems that today is a wrong day for the first visit because the air-con is not working (we had to sit outdoors), tiramisu is out of stock and they have no vanilla ice-cream too! We had to re-order our dessert and drinks.

These are what we ordered:

The dessert here is quite nice but don't trust the pics and description on the menu too much as the mango and strawberry cheesecakes that were presented to us are somewhat different. But who cares, as long as they taste okay.

Thumbs up for their lychee frappe! :)

The ST A Part of My Life Contest

Went Esplanade to participate in the "A Part of My Life" contest organised by the Straits Times. Every day in the week, participants are supposed to search for and cut out 2 jigsaw puzzle pieces from the papers and paste the pieces on the contest entry form in order to enter the lucky draw. The first prize is a Sony 60-inch LCD TV. DC and I thought that we had good chance (in fact better chance than toto) esp. when our names were not announced for the smaller prizes but sigh! Nope, after 2 hrs of standing and listening to the emcee cracking silly jokes, we did not win any of the prizes. What a disappointment! What's worse was that after all the standing, DC was seriously sick because of the lack of sleep! It took him quite a long while to recover.
