B is 13 month old

B walks at 12.5 months! It took her little effort to walk, no major bumps and falls. Now she toddles very steadily! Very cute!

Now that she knows how to walk, she doesn't want to be carried nor be put in her cot! Once on the ground, she would almost always walk to her brother and take his toys away. His brother always ended up having to snatch them back from her and as a result, B was often sternly warned by A not to touch his stuff by pointing his "cane" at her! Sometimes, B will be pushed by A onto the ground and she'll scream and cry.

Other times, A is actually quite nice to B. He drinks water with her and led her to say "An Na" (the babysitter's name), both of which B enjoys doing. Seeing how this pair of brother and sister communicate and react to each other's actions always make me smile.

B can drink from straw and she loves to drink water! She's having serious constipation and it always happened during the weekends even though she could finish the whole bottle of water, I wonder why? :(

Milk wise, I stopped my milk production just before my birthday but she still get to drink the frozen ebm.

She has porridge twice a day and cereals, buns or hard-boiled egg for breakfast. The baby sitter says she loves to eat eggs. :) I started giving her cheese and she loves it too.

She could say "Mao", "Mar" (mask), "Bar" (Barney), "Bubble", "Mama" (Mummy), "Moo", "Oi oi" (sleep).

At night, before sleep, she would request to finish up all the books she could find on the table. She esp like an activity book on farm animals. It's becoming quite difficult to get her to bed early, she now sleeps at 10am instead of the usual 9am. It often takes DC to be there to get her to sleep.

She loves to watch birds. We brought her to the park a few times this month to see her birds. We also celebrated her grandma's birthday and I brought A and B out on new year's day (with help from my sisters) for tea and snacks. We might want to try another of such outing! :)

A is 3 years and 6 months old

How fast, it's another new year! This year  2013, A will be in N2 and I'm happy to hear his teacher in charge said that he's well behaved in class and during his recent excursion to the Science Centre. :)

He was more willing to learn at home too. Yesterday, DC told me A wanted him to read book to him. This was something he has never requested in the past! :)

He loves eating french fries and this month, DC and I have been bringing him quite regularly to "M". He loves going to "M" and likes the letter "M" (definitely the letter of the month!) and kept wanting me to write the letter "M" everywhere on the black board! My sis, his yiyi gave him 6 McDonald miniatures and he loves the french fries, apple pie and coffee. B loves the burgers so just nice, they get to play with what they like. :)

We also tried to bring him to the park (where his "M" is) regularly. It was after all just behind our block, and a stone's throw away. He loves to walk on the stone path at the side of the pavement.

He was so familiar with his iPad that he knew where exactly to tap his way to play his favorite videos! This month, he did not only play his videos, he asked for my iPhone and played the same video on my iPhone as the one that was playing on his iPad! However, when he didn't see the same video on my iPhone (have not sync), he would insist on having that song on it! It's quite a headache but on the other hand, it's quite a joy to see what he ideas he came up with every month and how he varied his play using the same - iPad!

Another thing he did that make me smile is that he puts his iPad into a bag that look like a mini laptop bag (we called it the iPad bag) and then, he told us he is going "work work" with it! Then he swings his bag just like what DC and I were doing when we carried our laptop bags! :)

A still bullies his sister and is still fierce to her, esp when she makes noise. He holds his "cane" (which is a drumstick) and will shout "stop" or "aunty place" (go baby sitter's place) when he feels she is naughty. He also likes to push her toddling sister and always giggled out loud when she fell! However, at times, he could be very sweet to her. e.g. he holds her water bottle and fed her water, he hugs her and kisses her and feeds her biscuits or cheese. :)

A can be very cheeky... when his daddy went to buy lunch and left us in the car, he (more than once) asks me to sit in front, beside him and drive home without his daddy! When I asked him how is daddy going to go home? He said daddy can take taxi home! Haha...

A loves to snack and would never fail to ask for more "m&m", "gummy" or "chip chips". He is also more willing to take in more chunky food like chicken meat and he loves to eat veggies! And, he takes the stem of the veggies, just like me! :)

He celebrates his grandma's birthday this month and went to the Science Centre for the first time with school. I brought him and B out on new year's day (with help from my sisters) for tea and snacks. It was quite an experience! I think A enjoys them all!

A goes work work

I gave A a bag that could keep an iPad. He likes the bag a lot.

He saw that it resembles DC and my laptop bag and kept swinging it in his hands saying "A go work work"! LOL...

Finding Key Key

DC's spare car key (aka A's key) was missing and the whole family went looking for it on Tues, 15 Jan 2013 night. It was not found.

It was quite a while since A last played with it. He was pretty occupied with his iPod to ask for his key... so it took us a while to remember the key.

Today, we went to check the camera recordings and saw that the key was last seen on Sat. DC was still holding it in his hands and seems to have placed it on the shelf in the living room.

We went to the same shelf to search but didn't manage to find it. Hmm... where could it be?

[26 Jan 2013: Key was finally found and A was the one who found it! He took out umbrella to play and as he was dragging it on the floor, near the shelf that keeps B's clothes, out came the key! :) So, the key dropped on the floor and went under the shelf unnoticed by all of us! A was so excited about the found key that he always kept it within his sight! :) ]

An Na!

2 days ago, the baby sitter told me B knows how to call her name.

On the way back, I tried to test her by calling out the name and true enough, B started repeating her name - louder and clearer after each tries!

For the past 2 days, you can hear a symphony of "An Na"s going on in the car from the baby sitter's place all the way to home. And, A was also a part of it!

Today, I was surprised that he remembered the name and he was the one who started mentioning the name and led his sister to say "An Na" after him!

The two were giggling while they were shouting. They didn't make it till home as DC was irritated and ordered a stop to it! lol...

[17 Jan 2013: Today my mil came early in the morning. When the door opened, A called "Ah Ma" and B, who was there too, also followed... "Ah Ma! Ah Ma! Ah Ma!..." and she went on! It was the first time she called her and it was so loud and clear... that made mil very happy. :) ]

A's "Hello"

I took the iPod out to put my iPhone in to charge. A saw it and immediately wanted the iPod. He calls it his phone now and was playing with it for the past few days.

He would also gather DC's i5 and my i4 and line them up with his "Hello" neatly together. Then, he would count them, "Papa 的", "Mummy 的", "A 的"! The smile he gave after that never fail to melt my heart! :)

Although some may say never give small kids gadgets, they may spoil them, I think it's ok. What matters to me is that he finds great joy in it and is happy. :)

What can he learn from this? I explained the concept of long and short to him and also, tall, taller, tallest.

B can walk!

Yes! Yesterday when she was attempting to walk from the white board to the table, her legs was still wobbly and nearly had to crawl. Today, she could actually walk from the living room to the dining room! Wohoo! Way to go, little sister! :)

B's 1st Year Vaccination

Seeing that B recovered from her runny nose, we brought her to her 1 year old vaccination as scheduled. B has her MMR and Hep A jabs today on her left hand and right hand respectively. She didn't cry as hard as the previous times, maybe it's not as painful on the hands as compared to the thighs?

When I told my mum about it, she told me off and said I should have scheduled the two jabs on different days! :( Yes mum, no next time! Actually, the Hep A wasn't scheduled, it was a suggestion from the doc as she said the Hep A jab wouldn't cause fever and so we took it.

Doc advised that fever may come within these 3 days, if not in the next 7-10 days and rashes may appear but there is no need for alarm. This is depending on individual. She's fine today, we just have to watch out for the next few days/week.

[15 Jan 2013: High fever sets in on Saturday and it went up from 37.6ºC to 38.4ºC to 39.1ºC! Fortunately, it came down and was gone on Monday.]

DC and I have both read this book years ago and we love the movie trilogy "The Lord of the Rings". We wouldn't want to miss this related movie! This movie has been showing for quite a while already, we finally found time to watch this together! :)

All I can say is that this movie did not disappoint at all... all the familiar characters, scenes, creatures and the "ring" that were found in the earlier movies were seen in movie. I love the magnificent view of the New Zealand! It was however, a disappointment to know that after approx 3 long hours, the story has not ended... and there's a part 2 to the movie! (It's just like the local production "Ah Boys to Men"!)  :( We feel they should have trimmed it to 2 hours if there are going to be 2 episodes!

Sweet game

A loves to eat jellies. He had some 6 jellies in his x'mas goody bag from his childcare teachers. He couldn't wait to eat them all up and kept asking me to open them!

I thought it's such a waste to just do what he wanted, so I flipped the jellies facing them downwards and made him play a memory game.

The game is to remember the position of the coloured jellies and flip them when I said out the colour. He liked the game but was impatient to complete the game for the third time as the jellies was too alluring for him! :P

We had fun and these heart-shaped jellies are just too cute!

B is 1 year old

How fast time flies! B is 1 already!

We've bought and upgraded her to a new car seat. She is able to sit better and longer on this car seat. That's her in the picture above.

She develops too fast! I didn't seem to have hugged her enough and now, she didn't want to be carried! :( She rather be on the floor or cruising around. She can also toddle very short distance e.g. across the length of her baby cot.

At night, for the past 3 nights, she didn't want to be carried and wanted me to put her in her bed! She was rolling over on her bed, playing and couldn't get to sleep. She didn't want me to carry her (kept shaking her head when I tried to carry her) and she didn't want me to stay away from her bed too! She wouldn't even let me sit down, and demanded that I stand up and watch her roll on the bed! Thunder, Drills, spider, etc didn't work anymore as she is now not afraid of these! :( However, it always works when DC appeared in front of her and that made her realize it was bedtime and she had to sleep! DC - My savior! :P

She had her bottom front tooth (on the right front) out. It's so cute seeing her little pearlies when she smiles! :)

She loves to eat bread and would always cried out "Mumm Mumm" when she sees food! We fed her 2 porridge meals now and she could take about a little less than half a bowl of porridge now. I was told she loves to eat fish and I'm happy to hear that - same as mummy! :)

She claps, waves bye bye, shakes her head, dances with music and she jumps and she blows kisses... it's always a joy to see her move her body about! Super cute! She could also point a remote to the TV and she puts the phone on her forehead to answer a call! Haha, it just takes a "Hello" and she'll do this. Cute!

Of course, there were also times when she screams. That's when her brother would come in and command a "STOP!". She seems to have picked that up from A and would repeat "stop!" back at her brother!

She calls DC "Papa" and A "Tata". I haven't hear her call me yet but I know she could say "Ah Ma". There were a number of words that came out of her mouth actually. e.g. "book", "bird", "nana" (means take), "tow" (means throw), "there" (with finger pointing to the direction she wants to go) and "bao bao" (means carry her).

She celebrates her first birthday in Dec and I taught her how to blow candles. She goes , "Bu..." with her lip pouted, so cute! She also celebrated her aunty's birthday cum christmas and her twin cousins' 4th birthday in Dec. She loves the star on the christmas tree and would always ask to be brought near to it! We got her a huge Hello Kitty balloon and she loves it!

She is now on a pack of frozen ebm and 1-2 bottles of chilled ebm, we gave more milk powder now and she ended up with a number of constipations that causes her much effort! Also, started her on her magmag. She loves the big teat on her cup!

Both her and A were sick last week, A had cough and B had runny nose for the whole period! Fortunately, they were well now.
