Rainbow Sightings

I bumped into rainbows just one week apart in the most usual place - Bus stop!

Other than the sky, would you expect to find rainbows in the following places?

1. On a bench?

2. On the floor and I saw two!

Rainbows, don't they just make your day feel good? :)

Too busy

We've been terribly busy these 2 months and things just keep happening one after another (Thank God they did not happen all together but rather, one after another!). But, things are definitely picking up now, Amen! :)

First, in mid Apr, I sprained my leg when I fell on the escalator. Good thing is that I had a good week of rest at home.

Little did I know that shortly after I was getting better (Not fully recovered yet), on the day after the Good Friday, my MIL was hospitalised and subsequently had an operation.

For the next month until end May, FIL, DC and I had to take turns to take care of Baby. It didn't help that I was still limping and DC had to attend his ICT for 2.5 weeks in May! Fortunately, my very kind boss suggested that I be on telecommuting and that saves me loads of leave! DC also get to come back during his ICT and he helps out during his off days.

Despite the arrangement, work stress shot up as I had an important timeline to meet and I had to chase all the time that I had in order to complete my work within the agreed time! I'm glad to say I did that! :)

I also discovered during this tough period that I was expecting! How "timely"! You could imagine how taxing the journey and my body was! I was still carrying Baby and had to bathe him and take him to his enrichment classes - Alone! We were full of mixed feeling when we learnt the news. However, I was happy that we overcome all those and I'm in my second trimester now! :)

Now, MIL is out of hospital and we've put Baby in a childcare centre. I'm proud that Baby has settled himself in within quite a fast time. With the obstacles out of sight now, the only busy thing on our mind is to call for a celebration! Next month would be Baby's 2nd birthday and we'll be holding a grand celebration. Although it's also getting us busy searching venue and preparing the stuff but it's for a happy cause! :) Thus, I'm enjoying it!

I pray that all well ends wells! Have a blessed week ahead, everyone! :)

My 23-month old Baby

Here's Baby tucking in to a cup of yummy Movenpick ice-cream! :)

Baby learnt how to shout and cry for things he want. He seems to know that those are the ways he could get his way!

He walks around the living room with no issue and likes to transport things from one point to another in the living room (usually from the table to the tv console). Very often when he is doing this, he expect no interference from us, only attention. He's all smiles when he shows us where he ported the things to. However, sometimes when we try to hold his hands or carry him to stop him from , he pushes our hands away and squirm away.

Does the above spells the start of the terrible two?

He started his full day childcare sessions three weeks ago and I was with him the whole day for the first 3 days. It's a new experience to him and me too. He actually adapt pretty fast. In about 1.5 week, he knows what to expect in class and no longer cries. I heard from the teachers (I call the school regularly to get updates) that he is interacting well with his mates and more talkative now. :) He likes the food there too and surprisingly, he drinks more milk there than he does at home! The childcare centre that he is attending now is undergoing transition of management and I prefer the new programme better. Hopefully, Baby will like the new teachers who will be there in a month's time.

His apetite for food increases and he could easily finish one bowl of porridge! :)

His new word of the month is "Shoes" which he pronounces as "A-Boo". He's actually very fascinated with shoes and always requests me to bring him to the shoe cabinet. He shows preference over which shoes to wear and would ditate which shoes he wants me to wear! He'll go to extend of opening the shoe cabinet door and fish out the pair he wants!

He likes to view pictures on our digital photo frame and looks at them with interest! He calls "Ah Ma" correctly when I asked him who that was. When he sees the same picture that was on the photo frame on top of the speaker, he moves towards the speaker, looks at me and points at it! :)

Next month he'll be turning 2... We have now started preparations for his 2nd birthday party next month and the theme is the character he knows and likes. Hope he'll enjoy the day and not get cranky or too tired to cut cake!

Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides

Another movie that we've watched recently...

CAST: Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz and Ian McShane
DIRECTOR: Rob Marshall
LANGUAGE: English with Chinese Subtitles
OPENING: 19 May 2011
RUNTIME: 138 mins
RATING: PG - Some Violence

Johnny Depp returns to his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in an action-packed adventure. Crossing paths with the enigmatic Angelica (Penelope Cruz), he's not sure if it's love--or if she's a ruthless con artist who's using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the "Queen Anne's Revenge," the ship of the legendary pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn't know whom to fear more: Blackbeard or Angelica, with whom he shares a mysterious past. The international cast includes franchise vets Geoffrey Rush as the vengeful Captain Hector Barbossa and Kevin R. McNally as Captain Jack's longtime comrade Joshamee Gibbs, plus Sam Claflin as a stalwart missionary and Astrid Berges-Frisbey as a mysterious mermaid.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I totally love this movie! Some comedy (by Jack Sparrow) amongst action and adventure, I think every scene is exciting! :)
Are mermaids really vicious? Did Syrena really drag Philip down the waters or did she save him? Why did she go to Jack Sparrow and help him retrieve the chalices that the Spaniards threw in the water? These are the questions that I have that were not very well explained in the movie.
Note: Look out for the scene after the long long credits!
Green Lantern
Since I've time (cos resting at home), I thought I could post some movies that we've watched recently...
CAST: Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively
DIRECTOR: Martin Campbell
LANGUAGE: English with Chinese subtitles
OPENING: 16 Jun 2011
RUNTIME: 114 mins
RATING: PG
In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan. Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax...he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.
Although the general critics review is no good, we both enjoyed the movie. What's more, the actors and actress are both so eye-catching! :)
Oh, there's something after the credits and surprisingly, it was mentioned in the chinese subtitles!
Both Sick
DC fell sick first, he might have gotten the bug from his office. One week later yesterday, I got it too! Sore throat, runny nose, cough, now blocked nose...
We both went to see doc today. DC was a repeat case, I was the tricky case. DC got himself another set of antibiotics and stronger dose of flu medicine. I got myself antibiotics, cough syrup and lozenges. I was allergic to Augmentin, so I'm only left with one choice of antibiotics, Klacid which was actually not recommended! Doc weighed and decided that it's better to have Klacid (as it has been safe for the past 15 years until recently) than Augmentin which will cause drug allergy and possible complications.
Anyway, It's a clear signal for both of us: We needed more rest!
Fathers' Day Celebration
We had a celebration at the nearby restaurant with my family (4 Daddies altogether).
At home, I tried to take on DC's work - He didn't have to bathe Baby and feed Baby that day. :) It's Fathers' Day today, he deserves a good rest.
The artwork above was by Baby. That's his latest passion - to print wet hand prints on our glass door! :) I added the words on top which says "Happy Fathers' Day" but the words vanished too fast as it dries up.
Like last year, Baby seems to know that Fathers' Day is nearing and he's especially sticky to his daddy!
Sniffing Lavender Essence Once Again
We found a bottle of Lavender essence at the corner of the shelf. It's a long time since we last lighted the essence, so we decided to give it a try out. Also to test if I've any special reaction to it this round of pregnancy.
Hey, No Nauseousness!
Probably I've been too stressed up these two months. At the smell of it, there's actually an instant relief! :)
A's 2nd Birthday Party Preparation Update
Here's an update to A's birthday celebration preparation... We've finally finalized the venue. The venue that we originally wanted was already booked, so we had to find another one. We've made calls to check out other possible venues and finally decided on the place that we considered last year - a hotel function room.
With the venue booked, theme and date confirmed, we can finally start on our preparations proper and plan the activities.
First completed was the Invitation Card. This was easy.
We have also more or less compiled the guest list and have started sending out Invitations to all family, relatives and limited friends yesterday.
Next, we'll be searching for goodies and decorations... which didn't seem to be a very easy task and it's only 3 weeks more to the event!
Free Longines Watch
Complimentary from AMEX, the watch was originally Rado but stock had run out. So here I am stuck with this Ladies Longines watch ... Frankly, it doesn't look fantastic ... the Aigner was much better.
Anyway, to get the watch, I just had to post 20 transactions on my AMEX card per mth from Nov 2010 to April 2011. Easy task as it is my main card of use after all.
I am going to try sell it off.
Planning for A's 2nd Birthday Celebration
We've just decided that we'll go ahead with the celebration! :)
We've decided on the venue.
We've fixed the date.
We've changed a new theme and that means that the resources that I've gathered previously could not be used! Gotta start searching for new ideas for the new theme.
Looking at the date, we've a really tight timeline to fix everything together! It's going to be another busy busy month for us!
Give thanks to the Lord
Despite my situation, God has numerous encouragements for me, in everything that I do.
Right now, I came across this verse ... no, He led me to it. I need to learn to accept wholly ... which is the difficult part. Who would have known that accepting is so difficult ...
Give thanks to the Lord for He is good. His love endures Forever.
Psalm 136:1
X-Men First Class
CAST: Lucas Till, Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Jason Flemyng, Michael Fassbender
DIRECTOR: Matthew Vaughn
LANGUAGE: English with Chinese subtitles
OPENING: 02 Jun 2011
RUNTIME: 132 mins
RATING: PG-Violence
X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, which parallels the history of the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Civil Rights Movement of the 60s. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lensherr (Michael Fassbender) took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants to stop Armageddon. Through the process, a rift begins, which initiates the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.
