Sashimi once again!

There is full of Japanese restaurants at Parco Marina 3rd floor. Tomi Sushi is the next one that we "attacked"!

20100930-EPL1-45

Does brought back memories of the restaurant a friend brought CP and I to in Tokyo.

We wasted no time with our orders. Finally, CP and I can enjoy a sake together. It must have been 2 years at least.

Appetiser. Some sort of fish with soya sauce, not sure what.
20100930-EPL1-04

Sashimi @ $32
20100930-EPL1-12

Negitoro Maki (minced tuna belly roll) @ $15
20100930-EPL1-13

Ebi Tempura. This is really fantastic!
20100930-EPL1-15

Steamed Asari clams.
20100930-EPL1-16

Chawanmushi. There're bits of orange peel in it, which makes for a unique and fragrant taste.
20100930-EPL1-26

Uni sushi @ $20. Real good. Gotta be careful with uni because if it's not fresh, it'll be yucky.
20100930-EPL1-27

Mekajiki Sashimi.
20100930-EPL1-31

Sake Harasu Shioyaki (Grilled Salmon Belly) $13

Pampering myself in progress...

I've been spending more time for myself since last week... I felt rejuvenated, relieved, relax, reassured and revived again! :D

My (R)etail therapy consists of the following:

Hair and brows trimmings, new pair of shades, indulgence in yet another hotel stay, good food, F1 races and lots of shopping loots (1 necklace, 1 jacket, 1 skirt, 3 blouses, 3 belts and 8 dresses)!

Next on my shopping list will be a swimsuit, a pair of slipper, t-shirts, shorts and a nice hair color and probably a good pedicure and relaxing spa... yeah, I'm back with a vengeance, it's payback time to make up for my long lost me time! :P

My 14-month old Baby

Here's my 2-teeth cutie:

My boy is as playful as the previous month but he is also more independent now. More willing to be left alone to play on his own while we do our own things. That is good although it didn't last very long.

Diet wise, I heard that he's been rejecting some of his foods e.g. cereal, cheese and sometimes porridge during weekdays (hmm, weekends seems fine). I'm speculating that he's sick of his same old food... However, when there are things that he likes, he would open his mouth real big and gulped it down. I find that he likes my mum's porridge very much... like mummy. :)

He's definitely drinking more milk and water than before and will not resist if we put the teat/spout in his mouth. Still sleeping good hours both in the day and night. :)

His fine motors improved too.. He can press his toy buttons, had the ability to click on and off the pens and feed himself his puffs easily now. :)

He has rode kiddy car for first and second times and to our surprise, he enjoyed it very much and we thought he would not be ready for it!

Then, he celebrated the mid-autumn festival at the playground downstairs and carried his own lantern for the first time. He also had fun making colorful paper lanterns and playing with the decorative stickers.

We took him for a photo shoot a day just before his 14-month where he cried and laugh lots throughout. We expect good photos this time.

Then, last weekend, we went to the ResortWorld for yet another stay-cation with Baby and he swam for the first time at a big pool (for kids). After that was a mad rush to a friend's son's 1st birthday. It was a tiring weekend without rest.

We tried out 2 enrichment classes for him (he seems to like one and has no interest in the other). I will be trying out more sessions just to be sure. I hate to think about it but, seriously it may be high time to source for his playgroup. I'm afraid I may even be late for it already!

How art thou Rome'o?

During our staycation at RWS last weekend, I was not excited about the casino nor the theme park. Instead, my eyes pop with interest when I saw the sculptures and paintings of Romero Britto all over the hotel lobby and around RWS.

Love his's art works! I was not alone, the colorful and textured paintings captivated Baby's eyes too! :) This gives me an idea of what to do if I decide on an art 'n' craft session for Baby. ;)

Caleb's 1st Birthday Party

It was off to another party right after checking out of RWS. Did an early checkout at 11 a.m. Reached home quite early and we even managed to feed Baby A his porridge too.

A short while later, it was off to NUS Guild House for our friend's baby birthday party!

Baby Caleb was very friendly, kept grabbing Baby A's hands. But I knew our Baby A. He didn't like people to touch his hands :) Indeed, Baby A kept squirming away, hehe.

Halfway through, Baby A finally could not keep himself awake. Here he is getting in the mood for a nap.

Baby A goes to Resorts World Sentosa

Our cousin planned a weekend gateway at Resorts World Sentosa's Festive Hotel. It was also an occasion to celebrate her mum's birthday.

Well, of course I agreed. More details about the hotel here.

We were quite excited because it's been so so long since my relatives and I actually vacationed together. I knew it will be fun this time round too.

After checking in, we sight-see a bit. My mum and dad had coffee. Then we bought Baby A for his first dip in a swimming pool. He didn't really like it at first, probably because the water's cold. After a while, he seemed alright and I guided him along on his float.

Dinner was at Feng Shui Inn in Crockfords Tower. They seem to have a wide selection of live seafood available. Love the scallops!

Next morning, we had breakfast by the poolside and Baby A's cousins had fun playing in the pool after that. For us, we got to rush to another friend's baby 1st year birthday celebration.

New Family Member - Panny 20mm

After some months with the Olympus EPL-1, I decided I wanted a faster lens. After much consideration and looking at some reviews, I decided on the Panasonic 20mm F1.7. I am very pleased with the lens performance. Indeed, it gave me many more sharp and clear pictures of Baby A. Both CP and I were extremely pleased.

At 40mm equivalent of full frame, it isn't wide angle but still, I don't need to move really far back to capture Baby A most of the time.

Sample image taken right at the shop.

At $550 for the lens, it's really money well-spent. Since I bought it on 21-Sep, CP and I have already chalked up many keepers!

Baby Photo Preview

For the 1 year old photo shoot, we brought Baby A to the professional! Here's a preview of what's to come. I think this time is definitely better than his 1 month old photo shoot. Now, it's just waiting for the selection of the photos. I have a feeling we will buy the whole CD ...

Guess the riddle

During our lantern festival gathering last Sat, I gave my family this riddle to solve:

Feel free to try! :) Answers will be announced after Wed...

In case you couldn't see it from the picture, here it is:
