Wedding Anniversary 2011

For this year's anniversary, we thought we could give Conrad Centennial a try. Booking through the telephone turns up better pricing than my company's corporate rates, $333++ inclusive of breakfast and late check-out at 3 p.m. Not bad at all.

Once again, before checking in, I had tired myself cleaning up the home. It seemed a ritual, to leave the home in a pristine condition and come back still relatively clean.

Baby had a little nap so we checked in at 3 p.m. instead of 2. We had a corner room all the way at the end of the walkway. Quite comfy, nice and spacious. The bed was a bit tall though, even for me. Some of our other gripes were the baby cot was too small, shaving kit and comb had to be requested. On a positive note, DVD player is available, something we found was installed only in Oriental and Ritz Carlton so far. Of cousre, we got the Conrad bear, two in fact.

No swimming as the sky was getting overcast. Dinner was at Oscars in the hotel. It was an awesome spread with five varieties of oysters. I only dared to try two, for fear of diarrhoea.

Ice-cream at Udders

CP wanted to have ice-cream at Udders once more. As usual, the ice-cream were tasty. I had alcoholic ones whereas CP went for Choc and Cookies n Cream. Baby still didn't like cold stuff.

My 19-month old Baby

The picture below shows Baby biting his favorite food of the month! Yes, it's the CNY not-to-be-missed Ba Kwa! :)

He's still as adorable but his first signs of tantrums are showing up! At times, when you don't give him what he demands, he'll turn up his assertiveness and volume and you'll have no choice but to give in to him... cos he's tooo cute and fierce (at times) to say no to! :)

This little buddy behaves like an little adult now. He takes longer to get into his sleep and refuses to wake up in the morning, exactly like what I used to behave when I was younger... :P He loves grown-up food and when he's given his own baby food, he'll not even open his mouth. You'll see the difference if you offer him the adult rice or dishes (he'll open his mouth wide even before the food reaches his mouth)! He's been rejecting his cheese cubes lately... I guess he really hates the taste such that he could puke at the second bite of it! Fortunately, puffs and biscuits (certain type, mostly crispy) still work on him. We've been trying to get him to take ice-cream but this fellow just don't like cold food! His expression when consuming cold food is worth the look - It's exactly like DC taking sour food - so very hilarious! :) I noticed that he have some small gestures that resembles DC, often exhibited during his milk time just before his sleep! Haha, that's what they call like father like son I suppose? :)

For the past month, Baby has gone visiting a lot of places with us during the CNY period and seen lots of relatives that he has not seen. He saw his first Chingay parade and toss his first yusheng (actually second and he likes it). I guess it was an eye-opener for him. I was rather surprised to find him quite sociable (he'll hi and bye around) and he did not cry when he was carried by others (except CNY day 1 when he was not feeling well). He could even share toys and play with the other kids! I'm so proud of him. :)

He's also much more mobile, he crawls more than ever and even attempt to climb up and down! Now he toddles around the home with support. He's still quite careful to walk on his own. We are hopeful that he'll be doing so soon. :)

He clings to DC more now esp in the night and demands his daddy to carry him to sleep at night. When Daddy is in the room with lights on and door closed, he would almost always knock on the door and refused to sleep until Daddy comes out! He's also now a fan of snow white (like Mummy!) - Haha, I introduced him to the catchy song of "Heigh Ho". :) He loves music and I couldn't imagine his life without music. Besides music, he is also very infatuated with buttons (I probably have mentioned this previously...). He loves pressing the lift, remote controllers, telephone buttons and even iPhone (I'm just amazed at how fast he picks up sliding the iPhone to unlock!) and medela pump buttons! (yes, it has become his toy and he loves the vibration and would dance to the beat)

Baby goes to Chingay

The Chingay procession will be passing by our home so we brought Baby A down to have a look. It was a long wait. What was suppose to start at 7 p.m. only got underway at 8 p.m. Well, we did get to see the beautiful floats.

Music in a box

Today's music lesson is somewhat different. They had each parent put their babies into the box and drag round the room to the music. Baby A likes it very much! He was still crawling after the box after he got out.

Favourite Steamboat

Indeed Rajah Inn has become our favourite haunt for steamboat. I love the pork slices, simply delicious and succulent!

Buffet comes with choc fondue and unlimited serving of ice-cream but we went for the set meal this time. We went after Baby A's music lesson lesson with my parents. The waitress already knew us, or she recognise Baby A and gave us the seats at the entrance.

My Sweet Heart

At first, I was happy with this wallet, one of the first pieces that I own.

But, very soon, I found it too big and a challenge to carry it during lunch esp when I need both my hands on the tray and I hated to place it on the always wet trays.

So, DC got this pochette for me on my birthday last year. It is very handy and has a strap which eliminates the limitations that I faced in the previous wallet. LVoe it!
20100114-D80-08

After one year of use, the need to get more organised and to look for a place to hold my coins grew...

And so, tata, on V-day this year, DC got me this coin pouch:

It was a perfect gift, one which solved my problem and I could attach it easily to my pochette!
20110216-D80-06

What a sweetheart! Even Baby agreed too! Look at how happy he was playing with it at the store! :)

In return, I got DC a card holder.

Back at home, we had a hearty meal of the latest offering from Pizza Hut - a heart shaped pizza! Tastes sweet...

Hope you have a sweet day too. :)

Last day of CNY

Today marks the last day of CNY and my sisters suggested coming to my place for a good toss! Why not? Since Baby loves it too... :)

And so, we gathered at my place after dinner and had the fun out of the action! Cheers to CNY 2011!

Handmade Ang Pows for CNY

Like last year, I handed out ang pows made by hand again for this year's CNY.

The limited stock of Ang Pows that we made:

This year, the theme of the auspicious packets revolved around Baby and like last year, there is a play on the words. Notice the rabbit within the word "福"? :)

I had a colorful background which was different from the usual red cos I felt the vibrant colors bring out the theme "喜洋洋".

And guess what?! DC and I actually bumped into a shirt with very similar colors while shopping for his new year clothes! I encouraged him to get it to wear during CNY as it matches the ang pows perfectly... too bad, he didn't like it. :P

DC actually prefers last year's to this. We were very flattered to know that the aunties like our creation and are still keeping the ones that we made for them last year! :)

Baby Enjoys Music

Baby A likes music, even more so as he attends music school every Sunday afternoon. It warms our hearts to see him responding so well.
