This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nice one! Too bad, everyone in the Rogue One sacrificed during the fight against survival in the space arena.
And, Donnie Yen was really funny (and good!) in the film, different from his portray in the serious Yip Man films. Amused by his quote from the film: "I'm the one with the Force. The Force is with me!" :)
Being Matt Damon and Andy Lau fans, we wouldn't have missed this movie. :)
We wanted to experience Gold Class again but didn't expect the tickets to be sold out! Gold Class till the next time then.
Never knew the movie was about war with some monsters! It was an action packed film nonetheless. Love the cinematography - was great! And the Chinese actress (or Commander Lin in the movie, later General).. wow, her English pronunciation was crystal clear!
Love the way they assembled everything together - the West meets the East, the war between the human beings and monstrous beings, greed vs trust and some suggested romance.
Other Matt Damon films we've watched:
The Martian
Elysium
The Bourne Series
And, of course not forgetting one of DC's old time favorites:
Saving Private Ryan
The Hunt gets better each time
After sending B to her nanny's, I just had to visit the park next to the block and strike off a to-do item on this annual holiday leave!
With the map, I was able to identify exactly where a specific type of Pokemons that I needed was... however, I realized I didn't even have to refer to the map much, as every few steps that I took, there was surely something for me to catch! I just love to hunt in Pokémon nested areas! :)
Caught many Jynxs (ice-type Pokémon) which lead me to my bronze Skier medal. :) Also saw many others... it was a fruitful experience.
Clockwise from top left, meet the jumping (excited) Santa Hat Pikachu, the shocked (possibly at identity being exposed) Jynx, the sleeping baby Abra and the little blue kid practicing his punches:
Of course, I also took my time to stroll around the 2 parks enjoying the scenic views and remembering the times when DC and me used to go running years ago... until it drizzled. :)
New Blog Header: Staycation 2016
It has become an yearly affair to update the blog header and I've just completed this task in my end of year to-do list... Yay!:)
The new header was a gif file with different rotating pictures of our past staycations in 2016.
We have always enjoyed our staycation together as a family and were blessed to have gone to 5 such stays this year (and still counting!). I thought it would be good to recap these wonderful memories whenever I view my blog!
So, here are the new blog headers (5 versions, each showing up for 1 sec before rotating to another picture):
My Pokemon Adventure Continues
Was at the popular spot, MBS today to hunt for the little creatures...
This place, even though it rained, compared to the last one was so much more comfortable! I made sure I was prepared for this one haha. I had my flats on and wore comfortably. :)
I'd always love MBS, while at that, I also made sure I went into one of our favorite boutiques to check out the latest addition. :)
Sadly, I did not reap much rewards during my 2 hours there... the 10km eggs that I wanted to collect were non-existent and there was no sightings of the lapras either! It also started raining after I arrived... and the map that I downloaded last week was very quickly rendered useless after the company blocked it (again)! I was walking blindly again haha...
Nevertheless, it was still an experience and I managed to build up my collection of Magikarps and Shelders :)
After that, I went to find my mum at her place for lunch (to catch up for the time I didn't spend with her yesterday on her birthday)... need to replenish my energy after all that effort walking around - only mummy's big and yummy bowl of noodles could do that magic!
My first Pokemon Go Hunt
For the very first time since I downloaded the popular mobile app in Aug, I thought of going for a little hunt for the Charmander since it was very near home!
Also saw a lot of people there with me, all looking for the little fiery creature... after some time I figured out who were those with the map. Knowing that they knew the location of these pokemons, I followed them...the hunt became easier and not just based on blind walking hoping to bump into the pokemon... :)
I decided to walk back home (in my heels!) and I paid the price - my feet hurts by the time I got home! :(
But, apart from that, I did enjoy the scenic walk at the MacRitchie Reservoir and had fun catching the 6 Charmanders! I even got my silver medal for the fire-type Pokemon!
So, today I went but alas, I was not very prepared, as it was an impulse decision made, you'll see why...
I was wearing heels and dress! (Lol, the dressing must have looked really inappropriate... DC teased that I might be stomped! :P)
Some parts of the story was a little familiar and made me relate to the movie "Taken".
EDM music
Never knew they sound so good ... I used to give such music a miss but lately these EDM tunes had been so so good!
Best ever - Faded by Alan Walker. I had been listening to it over and over again and never got tired of it. It truly made one to want to dance!
We always knew they were coming back. After INDEPENDENCE DAY redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global catastrophe on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens' advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't remembered watching the earlier movie, it's definitely not with DC, we hadn't even meet then!
I always like watching a disaster film, especially when there's one with an actor from my country and scenes of my country inside. :)
Not a bad movie, we'll be waiting for the sequel to come soon, not 20 years please.
Cartoon night with the kids
Been letting the kids watched a series of Disney cartoons lately. I watched Beauty and the Beast with them tonight. Wow, I was blown away with the animation, songs and colours, especially the ballroom scene. This was the 1st time I watched it. Needless to say, the kids enjoyed this very much. I can see A's eyes gleaming when the movie ended!
What better thing to do on our anniversary celebration than to watch an action movie together? :)
It's been a trend lately to gather characters from different superhero movies to be casted in a single movie. It's quite a feat to see the superheroes you all in the same space but then, you'll struggle with who to support when they stood on different sides! :)
Anniversary at Andre
There was always a hype with Andre. We first tried his creations at Jaan back in 2009. Quite impressed, especially with the Snickers dessert.
For our wedding ROM anniversary this year, we decided to give it a try. I had to make reservations about 3 weeks earlier to secure a booking for lunch. There is also a deposit to confirm that reservation. The 5 course set menu is priced at $198++.
Semi-hidden entrance to Andre. Valet parking is available for $8. I would have preferred it to be complimentary, like what Gunther's provided. It's a rather small and cosy place. Probably about 10 tables or so.
I don't even know where to start? Do you even eat the leaves?
I can only say each portion is delicately small. I probably give a thumbs up to the presentation and the thought that went into each dish.
Something special for the occasion.
Seems more like a snack ...
A music box to go with dessert but it's meaning is lost on me ...
Not a very well-done latte art. $10++, not worth.
With the chef himself. It's really good that he came out to meet the clients. It's always good to see the face behind the fine food.
The private dining room on the 1st floor.
