The PAD (People's Alliance for Democracy) occupied Suvarnabhumi and the smaller Don Mueang domestic airport last week, stranding 350,000 passengers and causing massive damage to the Thai economy. The anti-government demonstrators finally agreed yesterday to allow flights to resume from Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi international airport after a week-long blockade and after the Thai court dissolved the ruling party and banned the People Power Party leader and executives from Politics for the next 5 years.
The turmoil also forced Thailand to postpone a summit of the Southeast Asian bloc ASEAN, which was due to be held in Chiang Mai in mid-December to March!!
This is it! No more Thailand for me until peace returns!
