B's first birthday celebration

B's birthday celebration was prepared in a record time. It was meant to be kept short, sweet and simple. :)

The Theme: Hello Kitty
This wasn't the theme we wanted from the very beginning. It was supposed to be Miffy but we were not able to get the cake and goodies in time as we were really very busy. :(

So, we decided to replace to an easier Hello Kitty theme. HK is also one of my favorite characters! And, DC thought that B looks like HK!

The Venue: Home
I wanted to try the CC near our place. We were always unable to book the venue there, so this year I called in earlier. However, this time they told me they will be undergoing renovation this period!

We figured out that the venue would be a challenge as it's the christmas season, so we decided to hold it at home. Afterall, A had his first birthday celebration at home too, so same for B.

The Food: Neo Garden
The usual choice. :) The food didn't disappoint. It was good!

The Invitation:
Invitation was by call (elders) and fb (cousins). We didn't invite my mum's side of relatives as they are still mourning for my grandma.

The Party Favors:
There were too many HK stuffs around but we chose to buy gummy bears instead for the kids! :) It's an all time favorite, even for the adults. The portion was huge. I did a tag and pasted it onto the bag and got A to distribute them out. :) A just love to help out!

The Decoration:
We ordered a HK bouquet and 30 pink/fushia/white helium balloons and decorated them around the house. I also bought a HK banner (10in) but it was too big. DC had to break it into 3 parts before hanging it up.

The Entertainment:
We are a house full of toys, especially for the boys! I'm glad the kids were happy playing with the toys, e.g. cars, carparks, highways and battery operated cars.  :)

The Birthday Cake:
Again, we opted for a Polar cake. I bought a HK cake topper and a nice number "1" candle to decorate the cake. Sweet!

B was napping before I woke her up to cut the cake! It must have been a shock to her to see so many people crowding around her but she seems to have enjoyed blowing candle and hearing people sing song to her.

The Look:
A pink princessy dress with 1 matching pink hair pin and 2 HK pins. We also put on her newly bought shoes - a must for 1st birthdays. Pretty! :)

The Presents:
All the presents were placed at the foot of our christmas tree. They will be opened on Christmas day. :)

We did open up one, as requested by the baby sitter - And, B got herself one amazing set of: HK red packet, handmade HK card, HK towel, HK blouse, HK socks and even HK shoes! What a coincidence! They too think that B looks like Hello Kitty! :)
