After watching the rabbit exhibits, I thought it'll be good to follow up with some related craft activities. So, I did some paper rabbits with Baby! :)
Materials:
Papers (cut into squares)
Scissors (to cut the papers into square. if your papers are already squares, then this is not required)
Wriggly craft eyes (optional)
Pom pom (optional)
Glue (optional)
Before start: Baby in very good mood and all ready to give me a hand. :)
Fold the paper accordingly:
Tata, that's the finished product. :)
Baby had fun playing with his new pet.
I did another two more - Mummy rabbit and Baby rabbit to accompany the Daddy rabbit. :P The way of folding is the same except for the paper size. I used an A4 sized paper for the baby rabbit.
If you have the wriggly craft eyes and pom poms, you may want to glue them for the rabbit's eyes and tails.
Baby was very interested in them... and erm, their wriggly eyes.
Too bad these rabbits didn't survive for long... they were dumped by my ILs 2 days later as they thought we didn't want them and I knew only when I found their remains (the eyes!). If not for this, they would have been pasted on the wall as CNY decorations!

Hide and Seek
Baby has the habit of hiding his bits and pieces of toys or puzzles in narrow dark corners...
Look what I've found under the table:
He never fail to make me smile whenever he does this. :) I know where to look for his missing toys... It'll be either under the sofa, TV console, table or dark corners, I hope I do not have to look into the bins one day!

Soloman Kane
I would say this is a much more enjoyable movie than the other one we've watched this month! :) Full of actions and brutality... just like what it was supposed to be!
Solomon Kane
CAST: James Purefoy, Max von Sydow and Rachel Hurdwood
DIRECTOR: Michael J. Bassett
LANGUAGE: English
OPENING: 20 Jan 2011
RUNTIME: 104 mins
RATING: NC 16 - Violence
CAPTAIN SOLOMON KANE is a brutally efficient 16th Century killing machine. Armed with his signature pistols, cutlass and rapier, he and his men unleash their bloodlust as they fight for England in war after war on all continents.
As the story opens, Kane and his band of pillagers are carving a bloody path through hordes of defenders in an exotic city in northern Africa. But when Kane decides to attack a mysterious nearby castle to plunder its rumored riches, his mission takes a fateful turn. One by one, Kane’s men are picked off by demonic creatures until he alone is left to face the Devil’s own Reaper – dispatched from the depths of Hell to lay claim to his hopelessly corrupt soul. Though Kane at last manages to escape, he knows that he now must redeem himself by renouncing violence and devoting himself wholly to a life of peace and purity.
His newfound spirituality, however, is quickly put to the ultimate test when he begins his journeys across an England ravaged by diabolical human Raiders controlled by a terrifying, masked Overlord. After Kane fails to thwart the brutal slaughter of the Crowthorns, a Puritan family that has befriended him, he vows to find and free their enslaved daughter Meredith -- even if it means jeopardizing his own soul by reembracing his murderous talents for a higher cause. His determined search eventually brings him face to face with his family’s own deadly secrets as he attempts to save Meredith and all of England from the forces of evil.

New Light. Fun Light
Baby woke up an hour earlier today... After milk, while waiting for day light, DC took him to our bed and passed him a portable light source to play... That entertained him for quite a while, making him giggled each time he flipped the blanket up to find the light source. So.Fun. My heart melted! :D

Colored Hair Once More
It was ages since I last colored my hair. I'm itching for a change! ;)
I was so bored and hungry (skipped lunch) after 6 hours of hair time. I only had a bubble tea that my sis bought for me (Thanks SIs!). The only consolation is the discount for the birthday gal (that's why I always cut hair during this period!). :)
Tata, my new hair colour that cost $300+:
And the process was sooo long and ugly...

Up Close with the Rabbits
There was a rabbit display at Suntec. So, after Baby's music class, we brought him to see the rabbits.
Boy, I didn't know there were so many species of rabbits around the world and I thought that there is only one kind!
I'm glad to see Baby feasting his eyes on the rabbits and that he didn't seem to be scared of them. :)

Belated Birthday meal
Tata, mum made me red eggs and cooked mee sua for me when I went to look for her after Baby's lesson.
That made me quite filled for dinner that followed.
We went Farmart for BBQ. There were quite a lot of peple there... Never know of this place and never know that farm place could be such happening at night. The BBQ stingray is yummy. :)

My 18-month old Baby
More babbles, more active and more cute each month when I update his progress! :) He's just so very lovable at this stage. Although he tends to demand where/what he wants to go/do and kicks up fuss when we did not do as told, I found his actions cute and nope, terrible two has not kicked in yet! :)
This month, he's been twisting and locking the door, cruising along more easily, knowing how to pat his chest to show most often that he's nearly lost his balance, coughing, putting on good weight (we added supplements to his daily feeds), transiting to drinking from straw and crawling faster now and waving bye when told and saying bye (he says Tatye) even to strangers! :) He could sign gong xi gong xi when asked. Now my job will be to perfect this so that he could apply during CNY. :P He also likes to be carried on his back way up high... like a little piglet... so cute! We have also transited him from nappy to diapers which could contain much more with less fuss.
Our favorite activity together now is singing the phonics song. He can even hum the "A" sound as I sing the song! We got him a drum set for x'mas and he turned into a little and instant drummer so intuitively that both DC and I were shocked! We attributed it to his music lessons where he learnt the rhythms and beats from and probably drumming. :P I also discovered that he could sign itsy bitsy spider! His teachers from the two schools he went to also commented that he was much more active and sociable and adapting very well... I'm proud of him! :)
He attended quite a few parties last month... X'mas party, his twin cousins' birthday and his dear mummy's birthday where we brought him to the zoo. We also brought him to the flyer and he enjoyed himself tremendously, moving around in the little space and looking out at the tiny cars beneath! How adorable! I can't help wondering if we could keep him in place when he's even more mobile?

Monsters
We decided to watch this movie after reading and hearing good reviews. However, we were both disappointed that we didn't appreciate it as much as the critics' did. There weren't much action packed in and I couldn't feel the fear in the characters. It wasn't much of a thriller, not like what the name of the movie suggest! You need strong reasons to watch it... and with upcoming new cny movies, I think you might as well pass on this.
Monsters
Cast: Whitney Able, Scoot McNairy
Director: Gareth Edwards
Genre:Horror/ Sci-fi
Language: English
Release Date:20 January 2011
Running Time:94 minutes
Six years ago NASA discovered the possibility of alien life within our solar system. A probe was launched to collect samples, but crashed upon re-entry over Central America. Today, the American and Mexican military still struggle to contain the massive creatures... Our story begins when a jaded US journalist (McNairy) begrudgingly agrees to find his boss daughter, a shaken American tourist (Able) and escort her through the infected zone to the safety of the US border.

Drumstick for Birthday
My side of family celebrates lunar birthdays with red eggs and mee sua. I realized these recent years that DC side of family does it differently. They celebrates with drumstick! :)
I received a call from Mummy at 12 noon, besides wishing me a happy birthday, she reminded me to remember to find mee sua or vermicelli to eat for lunch.
At home, MIL got me a drumstick today! How sweet is that - she remembers my lunar birthday! :)
And, haha DC had none! :P

Family Day at the Flyer
Bro had 10 tickets for the Singapore Flyer that will expire end of this month. Today seems to be the day we were all available. So, off we went to the tallest Ferris Wheel, in Singapore! :)
This was my 4th time there and DC's 3rd. But, it was still a good experience for us.
Group photo outside of the Flyer:
Group photo in the Flyer:
It was Baby's first time up there and I think he enjoyed it tremendously! :)
He even had a chance to see 财神爷 and got an early ang bao from him! :)
After the flight, we decided to go to the chinese restaurant there. Too bad for us, there was a long queue and we waited for quite a while before we got our table. During waiting, we went to next door Popeye's and fed the hungry Baby. To save time, the rest took a menu and thought of what to order.
Food did not disappoint and the crab was done the correct way we wanted. We were basically very much more satisfied than yesterday even though the food was slightly jumbled too.... until dessert time. This time, DC was the one who spoke up. The waitresses claimed that the dessert that came with the set was the mango and pomelo dessert or aloe vera drink and we demanded that they served us the yam paste that we ordered from the receptionist earlier. It was confirmed by the receptionist that yam paste could be ordered as part of the set. They compromised in the end but said that there were only 5 left (wonder if that's true)... although we were not very happy, we took the offer. The yam paste was worth it! :D
What an eventful two nights we had at the chinese restaurants - I wonder if we would enjoy it better if we went Casuarina (initially planned) instead?
