My pump is giving me problems again.
Initially, the screen kept showing the words "ERR" but it was still workable.
A few days later, it started to stop abruptly. Luckily, I was still able to start over the process to complete the job done halfway.
Then, the words on the screen stopped appearing (great, now I can't even see anything on the screen, not even the ERR!) and the memory function was not functioning. I was still able to pump but have to manually keep track of the time and refrained myself to use the memory function.
The funny thing was that everything returned to normal for a few days when I didn't do anything to it. 好景不长, the blank screen re-appeared shortly after!
Today, the pump just couldn't be started. The battery was dead despite the fact that I had it charged overnight! I had to rush home during lunch to get the charger! A trip that caused $20!
This is definitely not what I expect from a pump that costs nearly a thousand! *Thumbs Down*
[Updated 2 Jul: It miraculously revived again today. Hope that's the end of it. No more faults!]

Slow melting in progress
Get your 1-for-1 Haagen Dazs double-scooped ice-cream voucher from Suntec City customer service counter this GSS! No min spending amount is required. Offer ends 30 June 2010.
DC and I had our ice-cream cravings satisfied totally. We got ourselves a lot of the vouchers (greedy us! :P) and have been passing the message around.
We've just finished a tub of Haagen Dazs Green Tea ice-cream given by my mum and used up 3 vouchers which we sampled about 12 of their flavours. I think by the end of this month, we would be sick of and steer ourselves away from all ice-cream or at least the Haagen Dazs brand! Hehe...

Baby is 11 months old
Baby is 11 months old today! :)
He now has a mind of his own and often he would want to dictate the direction he wants to go by pointing his fingers and body towards that direction. Most of the time he did that, he was looking for Daddy in his study room. :)
He would peep through the door gap and could push open the door that is ajar.
He could tuck his hand in his top drawer to pick up his bib. Red, blue, orange, yellow... I let him pick his own bib for his meals.
He could pick up small biscuits with much more ease now. We encourage him to feed himself as and when we can. There was this once that we handed him a long biscuit, he pushed the biscuit into his mouth, let go of his hands, continued playing with his toys with his freed hands and then tried to gobble up the whole piece up with the work of his mouth and tongue! Haha, so cute!
He could sit very stable now either on his high chair or mat and we tried to let him play more on his mat now. His anxiety seems to be gone and he is more able to accept being alone or seeing Mummy and Daddy walking off for a while. good news.
He understands and follows instructions to wave "bye bye" to us every morning when we leave for work, sometimes auto! :)
He claps his hands along with melodies whenever he hears them or whenever we sing songs to him. He seems to enjoy himself more and more as each day passes, we simply adore his laughter and wide smile.
However, he is ever more determined to reject his milk, so skillful at squirming away from milk now that I think his grandparents sort of give up feeding him after exhausting all of their solutions! Hmmm...any valuable solution to this?
We had our 2nd staycation this year. This time it was at Pan Pacific Hotel. It was rather a disappointing stay, not as good as expected. Nevertheless, Baby seems to enjoy himself there. However, he had an eye infection right after the stay that lasted for a few days and we had a hard time restricting him from rubbing his red puffy eyes. Fortunately, it was not due to food allergy.
We introduced him to oatmeal, blueberries, fresh bananas and papayas and so far, his bowels movements are regular although the stools are hard.
Next month he will be turning one year's old. DC and I have fixed the date of his birthday celebration and have been making preparations. *counting down* I'm keen and thinking if I should have another celebration on his actual birthday... Hmm...

Updates to Baby's first birthday preparation
Little progress since last month but we managed to proceed quite a fair bit in the past 2 days...
We took some time backtracking and went back to our original point to source for new potential venues, get the quotes and discuss on the packages. Not that the venue that we've decided on was no good but we wanted to explore new probable sites. We were convinced that our earlier choice remained the most sensible option and confirmed our final venue & date 2 days ago.
We also re-visited the birthday theme. DC wanted to think more carefully about the theme and wanted us to brainstorm and to check out other themes. The result of the brainstorming was no change to the theme. :P
After rounds of discussions, the venue and theme remained. Yesterday, we resumed from where we left off - Baby's photos were picked, the buffet was booked, his clothes to wear on the party was bought and today, DC has sent out the invitations to his relatives. :)
Next we will be buying the decorations, sending the rest of the invitations, confirming the attendees, getting the goodies for the party packs, confirming the cake details, getting his present and getting my ideas implemented (DC has stroked off much of them, we'll see if we have the time and nod to implement the rest) :P
One month to his birthday, I'm counting down...

Fathers' Day
It's DC's first Fathers' day today. :)
I made him a collage from some of his photos with our baby taken outside. There is no question that he is a good and loving father. The photos show all - him grinning in every one of the photos while feeding, playing and "bullying" Baby! :)
At home, he was also wonderful to me. From someone who didn't know how to carry a baby, someone who told me that would only play with the baby to someone who now cook, bathe and feed Baby effortlessly, I cannot be more glad and proud to have him as the father of our baby! :)
I'm sure his effort is not wasted, I can see that Baby likes him a lot. Esp today, Baby is exceptionally sticky to him today - during our dinner with my bro, he kept crying for DC - as if he knows what day it is today...
Happy Fathers' Day, Daddy!
Didn't forget the grandfathers... we had Japanese dinner with DC's dad yesterday and I texted my dad a message this morning (he's now enjoying himself on his 11 day trip to Taiwan with my mum, sisters n family, we'll probably have a good dinner when he's back tomorrow).

I like rain but not flood
The day Orchard Road turned into Orchard River...
About 100mm of rain fell in the central parts of Singapore between 8am and 11am today. This was more than 60 per cent of the average monthly rainfall for June.
I was one of the many affected by the heavy downpour. At near lunch time, I heard my colleagues speculating why there was a traffic jam when they saw the immovable vehicles from their window. Then, at lunch time, we knew from a colleague that the whole Orchard road was closed. We couldn't go anywhere for lunch, so we settled lunch at the next-door hotel! A lousy day for those who were trapped in Orchard Rd but we, on the other hand had a good reason to enjoy our lunch. Because of the weather and ambiance of the restaurant, it feels like a lazy day. Wished I was snuggled under my blanket then! Some of my colleagues even had their external meetings canceled as there were no way for them to reach us.
I never thought Orchard Rd could be flooded. Lesson learnt: Never never take things for granted!

Playtime was such fun
Here's Baby enjoying his playtime... His laughter never fail to bring a smile to my face! :D
He cannot be bothered with these big cubes even though he has no problem lifting them up in his hands. However, after this session of fun and laughter, he showed a leaping interest in them! One more toy to capture his attention and to keep him entertained! :D

Grey Matter
I find myself buying more grey coloured clothes nowadays. Last Fri, when I was in a shop in Marina Square trying out the clothes in the fitting room, I suddenly realised that hey, all the clothes that I'd chosen were grey! Ha... I never like grey as much as I like my whites, blacks and blues, so I never had a lot of grey clothes in the past. It's surprising that my wardrobe now comprises mainly of greys cotton drapes and my grey collection is growing, esp when it's the GSS season now! :) Grey days ahead, haha...
Grey is my new black! It is cool (not dull!) and neutral and the shades can be worn from top to bottom and layered on top in whichever way you like. The colour makes a great base to the outfit... matches with almost every colour. I heart the grey look with metallics accessories and blink blink!
And, p.s. Grey is also now the trend for men!

Happy Hubber
We have recently subscribed to StarHub TV. This was actually on my wish list for the longest time, finally I can strike it off! :P
Before I got married, my eyes were almost always glued onto the TV screen during the weekends busy catching HK or Korean series that I've missed on the weekdays and the Taiwanese beauty programmes. It has been years since I had that experience!
Then came the days where I was left with no choice but to watch channels 8 and U. I did follow some local productions and Korean series along the way but secretly wished there were no commercial breaks.
Back then, I used to appreciate the continuous repeated casting of 5 episodes on the weekends but now, I was wowed by how much more the new HubStation could do compared to the previous setup box! Now I can play back selected programmes I want to watch at anytime within 7 days of screening, start over a programme that was already showing on TV, purchase by episodes or whole video, do a fast forward or pause all at the convenience of a click of a button! These improvements were simply amazing! :)
DC and I have been enjoying good TV time after putting Baby to his bed at night. We've completed 学察狙击 (Thumbs Up!),大冬瓜,幕后大老爷 (Nice) and now catching 该颖与亚伯 and 法政先锋II (Thumbs Up!)! The next one coming up (富贵门) seems nice. I think I'm hooked! :P
Not sure whether the box by the rival company has the same features but the last known was that they do not serve my area (no reception). Anyways, I'm very happy with StarHub TV. No complaints with the other services that we've subscribed as far as I know - StarHub Mobile, Digital Voice and MaxOnline...
