19th Month Vaccination

Since he had already started playgroup, we thought it would be good if Baby could have his immunisation taken asap. So, we arranged for the MMR jab that we deliberately delayed to be done today.

Initially, we were very worried that Baby would struggle and opposed to the jab but it turned out to be a surprise to see that Baby not affected by the poking at all (rather, he was slightly annoyed by his restricted movement prior the jab)! Kudos to our skillful GP! :)

When we got back and took out the plaster of Baby's left arm. We played with it briefly, sticking it anywhere we want to. We stuck it on his hand and on the blue black on my knee...

Then at some point, Baby took it out and tried to put it on my forehead... that made me laugh for a while. He was treating it like a fever patch! And, I wonder why he wants to patch it on my forehead when he himself hates it so much? :)

Anyways, till now, he's hasn't got the fever yet... It's said that fever will come either immediately, within first 3 days or within 3 days after 1 week. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

[20 Mar 2011: He was fine on Wed, the day of jab. On Thu, he started developing fever of 37.9ºC which subsided on Fri. On Sat, fever escalated to 38.1ºC and I was practically carrying him whole day! Fortunately, his temperature came down to 36.8ºC at night. Today, his temperature remains normal but his appetite wasn't good. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better!]

[27 Mar 2011: His temperature actually went normal on 21 Mar and just when we thought the fever was completely gone, it came back at 37.2ºC on Wed, 23 Mar night and the next day it went up to as high as 38.5ºC for the next 2 days! He was cranky and listless. Yesterday, he was still feverish at 37.5ºC but he was back to his normal, cheery self and he greeted me with a wide cheeky smile in the morning after his morning milk! :) After his afternoon nap (on my shoulder), his fever finally subsided and it carried on that way until the whole of today! Yeh, he is now fever-free! :)]
