A farewell lunch for a colleague. The bento set lunches are quite expensive between $18 to $38++. However, the variety served in each bento quite make up for the cost. I do like the sashimi and sushi that is offered in my bento set. Nice and fresh. The rice wasn't good though, not chewy enough. The soy sauce pork that accompanied my bento was very tough as well. Chawanmushi bordered on the sweet side, which was not to my taste.
The ala-carte uni sushi was a bit of a disappointment though. It had lemon juice squeezed on it, which masked out the natural taste of the uni. The kajiki sashimi was pan-seared on the edges, something which I don't really fancy.
A letdown was the service. The waitress got my order wrong, even though I pointed to the bento that I had wanted. In the end, they served me the Hinoki bento, which had kajiki sashimi. That made the side order of kajiki sashimi also redundant ...
Decor-wise was nothing to shout about, but the food should be all that matters.
