Synopsis
HACKSAW RIDGE is the extraordinary true story of Desmond Doss (Andrew Garfield) who, in Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of WWII, saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun. He was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon, as he believed that while the war was justified, killing was nevertheless wrong. As an army medic, he single-handedly evacuated the wounded from behind enemy lines, braved fire while tending to soldiers, and was wounded by a grenade and hit by snipers. Doss was the first conscientious objector awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.

A very moving film! I didn't know it was based on a true story and thought it was a little exaggerated until towards the end they showed the interview of the true hero and his comrades! Truly deserving the Golden Globe nominations! We were also glad that we watched this in Gold Class.

I was looking at how the late man, who was a man of God, put his trust in the Lord to enable him to save 75 soldiers single-handedly without weapon during WWII!

It was a deserving medal of honor for him, and he proved that by firmly believing in God, miracle could happen!

Wedding Anniversary

It was our wedding anniversary today and we totally forgot about it! Totally!

DC was resting at home trying to heal his swollen knee. Somehow, DC decided to meet me for lunch, somehow we chose a fine dining restaurant that we always wanted to try and somehow, DC suddenly remembered that today's our wedding anniversary in the middle of the course!

Thanks God! Otherwise we will be thinking that it was just a normal weekday and regretting that we didn't remember it at all! :)

I like the restaurant decor and the cutlery they used. Different from the usual; there's a fish tank and a rock with knife on it on every table!

There were 2 types of menu to choose from - either French or Japanese.

Baby is toddling at long last :)

He started taking independent steps somewhere in mid May 2011. That time, he could only make a few steps but today, he proved that he could walk more than 1 metre, maybe 2! :D He just walked across the dining room! Yesterday, he was just walking from the living room table to his toy shelf!

That's a great piece of news!

Somehow, it's just so coincidental that all these happened after we went for our long-missed Sunday church session and since, we had taken the holy communion together in the house! DC has also been praying with Baby in tongues and all these seems to have worked the miracle! Correction, I should say we always believe that Baby can walk one day but somehow, God is speeding the process up for us! Amen!

Difficult times but God is already multiplying the good

From Pastor Joseph Prince: "Tell My people that if they want to understand what I am doing, just look at what the devil is doing and see it in reverse. That is what I am doing, multiplied many times over".

I will stand firm and not give up without a good fight. A thousand may fall at my left and 10 thousand at my right, but none shall come near me AND my family!

Indeed God has blessed me these recent years. I am never in a better position to tackle this situation.

I pray God will carry my Mum through these difficult times and bless her with a long and fulfilling life. May my Mum live to a 120!

As we indulge in gifts and presents for each other, lavish dinners with our friends and families, I can't help but remember that you, Lord Jesus, is the true reason that we celebrate Christmas.

Because of you, Lord Jesus, that our baby Aaron came into this world safely. He is such a wonderful boy, bringing so much joy into our lives.

Thank you Lord Jesus, thank you Abba Father! We love because you first love us!

Thank you Father, for being here with us. It warms us that you are with us these few months, that Baby Aaron is growing up so well, so adorable. It shames us that we have not been relying on you as much as you want us to. Just as your songs of worship brought tears to my eyes, we are reminded of your faithful love and grace. Your love surpasses greatly our love for Aaron, it is everlasting and ever tender.

We enjoy this special moment that you have prepared for us. I have never seen Aaron slept so peacefully before ... for your Presence is with him, Father. Thank you, Abba! Father! Thank you, Lord Jesus!

Baby Aaron - God's Gift to Us

Finally, baby Aaron has arrived at 20:07 hrs and weighing 2.23 kg. He's heavier than what the scan showed yesterday, which was about 1.9 kg. God has indeed blessed him and provided him with the necessary growth and nutrients. The tests done on him at the ICU showed that he is reading normal on all counts. Amen!
