I had never been fitter in my life
Yep, since about 2.5 yrs ago, I started with personal training. I invested about S$13,000 and signed up more than 180 sessions. In retrospect, it was a mistake to sign so many sessions at one go. Trainers come and go and each new trainer kept wanting to sell me more sessions. Well, lesson learnt. I would keep it to 36 sessions or less in future.
However, after 2 yrs, I had come to a point where I decided I should train on my own. I did learn some training routines over the past two yrs and one particular trainer had been effective in helping me to lose weight and modify my diet. In the end, cost was the factor. I simply can't sustain the cost of personal training.
I did have the good blessing to meet a training kaki though. He's 55 yrs old but very fit. We hit it off well and he gave me tips on training. I learnt a lot from him. Using his training methods for the past 6 months, I finally made a breakthrough today. I did my first diamond push-ups. I managed 3 sets of 15 for a total of 45! Wow, I was totally amazed. Just two weeks ago, I could barely manage a proper diamond push-up. Definitely more motivated to continue training.

Hard to find that perfect keyboard
Today, the two newest additions arrived. The Logitech G710+ for home and the Kingston HyperX Alloy for office. Bought from Lazada with a $30 discount using Stanchart credit card.
It's truly hard to find the perfect keyboard. I had many before, must had spent closed to $1K over the years ...
Logitech: S$133.8
Kingtson: S$130
Both used the Cherry MX brown keys. The G710+ had most of the keys silenced already. The SPACE key was not silenced though. I was quite impressed with the Logitech G710+ build. Solid feel although the casing is made of plastic. There was a dedicated key to disable the accidental press of the Windows key during gaming. I also liked the dedicated volume control and mute button. The volume control was a roller type, which I really liked.
No RGB lights for this keyboard, which I didn't care. I only wanted the backlight when I used the keyboard at night, which was more than enough. There is also a USB pass-through on the keyboard. It requires an additional USB connector on the PC.

Bento best not tried
Bought a Umi Sushi bento through FAVE for $3.60. Supposedly 50% off. Not nice at all. The chicken was hard and cold.
Measly pieces of veggies .... Fortunately it's only a $3.60 hit to the wallet. Never again.

I actually like cooking
My aim to home-cooked meals is to cook healthy, nutritious meals for my kiddos.
Fried rice with sweet corn, minced meat. This had the requisite protein, carbohydrates and sweet corn for that touch of veggies. Minimal oil added, with a dash of soy sauce and salt.
Miso toufu soup with gyoza. Toufu for the protein and gyoza for that bit of meat bite.
For me ... I had striploin steak with corn and carrots. Good source of protein. A sprinkling of balsamic vinegar for taste to the carrots and corn. The steak was nicely done, just nice, medium well. I think I am getting the hang of it.

Kong - Skull Island
So so movie. Just plain old fighting, Kong against monsters. Special effects good. I wouldn't watch it a second time though. Samuel Lee Jackson is getting very an eyesore ... he seems to always act as the gungho, grudge against everyone kind of guy, Glad I didn't watch Gold Class on this.

We were waiting for this to be screened, DC and I... we had to watch this at the Gold Class!
Logan and Professor X were probably the only X-men to have their lives screened, from the origin till the end.
Sad that this was Hugh Jackman's last appearance as Wolverine! In this movie, Wolverine was totally worn-out! Sad ending for him, such run-down life he lived...
Quite a different superhero movie from the previous X-men movies... Nice pictures, good acting, good emotions, nice show and, Farewell Logan!

Happy 11th Wedding Anniversary Man!
Lately, my colleague has been asking us (who were all married) and updating us on the preparations for her upcoming wedding such as Guo Da Li, ROM venue, wedding dinner, and also home searching.
Wow, all these customs sounded like they happened a long time ago and I couldn't remember some of them clearly anymore! Fortunately, I had the blog where I detailed some of the things down.
Thanks to her, I'm enjoying the little recaps of the wedding preparation here and there, now and then. :)
And just last night, she asked us where her parents should be sitting during her wedding dinner. Both DC and I were certain that my parents sat with us that night. It was after I flipped through the actual day wedding photos stored in the computer, that I realized we were both wrong!
So much memories these photos had brought! So much work, effort and love had gone into the preparation for the actual day but now we don't even celebrate the wedding anniversary anymore?
So I say to myself, we must make it a point to remember this significant day and celebrate the day we became man and wife! And, I will rely the same message to DC too!
Happy 11th Wedding Anniversary, my Man!
Here's a photo that will definitely bring you fond memories of the day we met, the day you put on the ring on me and the day we wed!

I organized a movie event for the company and chose this movie as it was the movie which best fit our criteria - within the timeslot we want, within walking distance from lunch place, genre suit both genders and not watched by anyone yet.
You see, the downside of finding a movie which no one had watched before aka newly released film (I couldn't even find it in the Wikipedia!), would be to accept a risk that this might be B to C grade movie, which unfortunately in this case it turned out to be so!
We were conned by the name of Anthony Hopkins, thinking that it should be worthy but alas he didn't even appear in a lot of scenes in the movie! It didn't help that the drinks at that cinema also offer lower than expected quality of drinks and nachos... :(
How do I describe this? Hmm, cheesy and cheap thrill, better off watching the Korean dramas at home!
Well, at least the actor and actress are still watchable and we got to go back early after the show... haha...

Back To Gym
Back to the gym after unknown number of years... thanks to DC! He introduced me to the cycling class. I also read somewhere that it was effective to raise the energy level and even suitable for old people.
Knowing that it was an intermediate class, I went easy with myself...
How did I feel right after the class? My legs went jelly right after I stepped out of the bike!
How am I feeling now? Ouch! I was unable to walk properly, first day it was just my thighs and on the next day, even the calf muscle ache! Fortunately, the chewzies were very sweet, A held me around and B didn't request for me to carry her for long! :)
Will I go back again? Yes! Definitely but maybe will stick to the beginner's class first. hehe...

Who does B take after?
A typical day at B's music class would end with the teacher asking me to get the instrument for B to practice... after I've gotten the instrument, she'll want me to ensure B practice at least 10 mins every day at home. Today was no difference except she commented that B pick up quickly during class despite her not practicing at home, she had the potential.
The music teacher also said that at her age, B's notation was perfect and that she must have been very clever. She enquired if she was doing well in school to which I replied okay.
She further questioned if her intelligence was from her parents. I was quite taken aback to receive such a question from the teacher but humbly said it could be her daddy and left to chase after B who had left the classroom already.
Back home, I told DC what happened and we both fought for the credit (LOL!), both claimed that B takes after ourselves! Well, although DC achieved the top few percent of his cohort, I was quite a model and promising student back then at school too!
Never mind who won the fight in the end, it was a proud moment for us!
Photo of her taken on that day, on the way to her music class. :)

A Tembusa Tree Fell in Botanic Gardens
A tembusu tree toppled in the Botanic Gardens yesterday afternoon and left 1woman dead and 4 injured including the deceased twin 1yo children!
We also discovered that very night that another tree also toppled at our estate, and blocked our way!
A remembered hearing the sound of the tree toppling, so did DC during nap time... while B and me were sound asleep! He was worried about the tree falling again and couldn't sleep at night... and we allowed him to sleep with us that night, much to his relief! :)
The fallen tree:
The next morning (today), we saw some men clearing the tree. Boy, that was sure a lot of work and that tree wasn't even the size of the fallen tree at the Botanic Gardens!
Knowing that the tree was removed, A slept well that night. :)
RIP Tree!

A Happy Day
Today, after their enrichment school, we took the kids to somewhere we hadn't gone in a while.
The chewzies were questioning if they were going to their Sunday school when they realized that they were going in the direction of MBS.
"Yes, we are going to MBS."
"But, no there is no school today!"
That made their day, mine too! :D
And so, we all went to LV Island Maison in MBS. A place we used to hang out before the kids were born, ok to be exact before B was born.
It was heaven to them, they were having joy and fun there, as if they were at home! Chasing each other around, running around, exploring every corner and taking pictures everywhere (haha this which I was guilty of).
We were glad to see a familiar face there, still as friendly, and we took pictures with her. :)
However, we were disappointed to know that the belts that both of us wanted were either sold out (just a day before!!!) or not in the correct sizes (we requested to have it transferred from another shop but to find on the day after that that was in bad condition!!!).
Nevertheless it's still good to be back. The island was really a nice place to laze around on a sunday afternoon.
Next, we went to a jap café in Suntec and tried their newly introduced brunch sets. Their coffee was still as aromatic, just what we need to handle our energetic kids!
After we had our fill, we headed to Sentosa to do some collection at the RWS Invites counter. And, B thought that she was going to check in a hotel today! haha...
Much to the kids disappointment, we went back home after the collection.
Happy day still, for the kids and me! :D

CNY 2017
A very full-filling Chinese New Year this year! Everywhere we went, we're sure to eat around!
On the eve of CNY, we had a great reunion dinner with DC's parents, it was sumptuous as usual. We had our first lo hei too! This year, again we're missing the brother's family again as they were in confinement with their newborn boy. It was strange that when we're back at home, A asked me why his uncle did not turn up for the dinner! I didn't know he would be bothered by his absence.
The loving chewzies:
The good food:
That night, the kiddos helped DC wash his car, and in turn we allowed them to sleep later (till midnight) watching their favorite cartoon to their hearts' delight.
Look at the diligent helpers! :)
Us in our matching outfits on CNY Day 1:
The CNY started off with the vegetarian 罗汉斋 at the in-laws, where A finally met his uncle and cousins there.
As usual, the first stop was to the uncle's place. A and B found prawn crackers there and couldn't stop eating them! :) DC and I had our fill with the fried bee hoon, yam cake and the CNY goodies like ba kwa, pineapple tarts and love letters!
Next stop was to the aunt's place. Over there, A and B kept running around and eating crispy seaweed and prawn crackers. Sensing that they were tired, we tried to force a short nap on them at the aunt's place. Well, it was better than nothing... they were refreshed enough to move to the third place of the day... and that's the cousin's place.
At the cousin's place, by then A and B already know where to find sweets - the table tray - they consumed lots of Ribina gummies and chocolates! The kiddos also found themselves a favorite spot at the place!
At 5:30pm, we went back to the aunt's place for dinner and we had Lo Hei (our second) and delightful home cooked food. DC and I were in love with the mini Buddha jumped over the wall! The kiddos love the chicken cutlets.
Us in pastel colors on CNY Day 2:
On day 2, we went to my parent's place and we had lunch there. Mum cooked the most delicious fried bee hoon and porridge! We also had the CNY must served red date tea:
Shortly after, we all proceeded to my uncle's place. Good food awaited us there! We had another round of feasting of our all-time favorite crispies! This year there were mushrooms! A was very appreciative of the food there and ate them in big bites! B loved the crispy prawn skin too! :) DC commented that the chicken wings were perfect! Food was so good we just had to pack them home. We managed to have our big group photo and family photos there too.
We took the kiddos back home for a nap, before we began our visiting at another aunt's place. This year, the cousin and his wife was around and they helped entertain the kiddos. A and B got to watch their favorite animated series - Mr Bean - while eating the strip crackers (again!). Surprisingly B was ok with the cousin's wife, and she was willing to sit on her lap while watching TV! We had A kept asking to go gai gai after the visiting, not wanting to believe that shops were all closed on CNY, haha...
Our Family Photo on CNY Day 3:
On day 3, we went to B's nanny's place and B had a wonderful time running around the place looking for new changes. :) Again, the kiddos grabbed a lot of sweets at the sweets tray. They also had milo and some cakes there.
Next was to their grandparent's place where MIL whipped up lunch for them, and after lunch we proceeded to another aunt's place. The kiddos drank coke and again had seaweed crackers there before bidding goodbye to day 3 visitation. The rest of the day was spent at home, where they had a good rest while it was pouring outside.
Tomorrow will still be a rest day for DC and me, we have taken leave as the kiddos are on school holiday. We have promised B that she could return to her nanny's... as for A, we'll have fun bonding with him! :)

New Spectacles Collected
DC did a pair of spectacles recently and suggested I did a pair too at the same shop when he went back to adjust his new spectacles. I did just that and only managed to collect it tonight. It's been almost a month, I almost couldn't find my receipt... (I had DC rolling his eyes at me!)
At home, I showed it to the kids and was amused by their reactions towards me wearing spectacles! I wanted to tell them to take good care of their eyes... otherwise they'll end up like me. Haha, THEY, especially A, looked at my nerd look and rolled on the bed laughing! LOL!
And, it (the laughing) continued over the next few days!
[Updated: For the next few days, A constantly requested for me to wear the new specs and without forgetting to laugh at me heartily! Thanks to him, my new specs was not a white elephant! :P]

CNY Ang Pows 2017
This year's CNY, which was on 28 Jan 2017 was way too early for any preparations to be made!
I didn't really have the time to explore new PS techniques and the creative juices didn't flow as well compared to last year (last year I had 2 designs!). So, this year's handmade ang pows was done pretty quick, with the aim to conserve time and energy for the bigger CNY to do things e.g. spring cleaning.
Introducing this year's red packet design for the Year of Rooster:
If you were to notice, the template was reused from last year's and I only had to fit in a photo in as the cover for the red packet. I made sure I chose one photo with enough gold (or red). I even removed the wordings this year!
Of course, like previous few years, I also added elements to allow the kids to participate in the making and to add their creativity strokes on the red packets. The balloons were to be turned into colorful roosters and the kiddos clothes to be tinted with sparking colors for the CNY! Each packet is still unique on its own! Haha, in the end the kiddos were more interested in watching their cartoons to help out...
Special thanks to DC who specially bought a special coated paper! He also got a new colour printer, haha come to think of it, the ink cartridge used to be replaced every year this time, it became a yearly thing to do before CNY unknowingly! Hopefully with the new colour printer, this step will not have to be repeated every year! :)

Returned!
Returned to the art show the next day!
Not because I missed the art there, not because I wanted to buy any of the art there but because I thought I lost my cardholder there!
The organizer was very nice to hand me a return pass, however it was quite a frantic experience, trying to search for something that I didn't know where I've dropped!
And my feelings then was like this! Lol!
I also made my way to the conference and exhibition security counter to report my lost and found item. I didn't understand why the procedure was made so difficult just to report a lost item and was terribly annoyed by the poor customer service the security officers had over there! The customer service hotline and the mall security was much better!
On the way there, I cancelled my credit card... the new card will be sent to me in 3-5 working days.
It was only when I reached home that I found it! Still in my bag! Wonder why DC and I failed to find it in the first and second place! haha...
I tried to cancel the request for the new card, but was told it couldn't be done... Now I had to wait for the new card to come, and re-apply for ezlink topup. Quite a lot of work because of blunder!
