X'mas Activities

I did these with my little one to keep him involved and to teach him about the festival. :)

1. Craft
We colored the picture of Santa Clause and pasted cotton wool for the beard.

2. Setting up the Christmas tree
Baby helped pass me the balls to hang up the tree.

Now he knows what a christmas tree is and could point it to me when I asked "Where is the X'mas tree?"! :)

3. Orchard Christmas Lightings
We brought Baby to see the Christmas lightings at Orchard Rd - How could we have missed this? :P The festival come in timely as he is very interested in lights now.

4. Listening to Christmas music and songs
It's fun to see him move to the beat!

5. Introducing Christmas objects
He saw Santa hats, gingerbread boy, christmas tree, presents, lights, etc

6. Wrapping presents
He saw me wrap the presents.

7. Making little cards
This is what I wanted to do with him but didn't manage to. However, I made some gift tags and pasted them on the presents.

8. Going to X'mas day party
This year's party was at my sis place. It was the first time we were there. He saw the good food, the gift exchange and the cake cutting. I hope he realized it's his aunt's birthday too! :)

9. Coloring
I printed a christmas related picture for Baby to color on it.

It's a Christmas tree.

10. Opening presents
I let him unwrap his presents, I must say he did a pretty good job!

Hope you had a wonderful X'mas this year too!

Baby having the runs

Baby has been having the runs since Wed! It started 5-6 times a day until yesterday 3 times and today, 2 times. We've seen the doc and he suspected Baby might have caught stomach virus. DC and I thought the changing of milk powder (in attempt to beef up Baby) caused it.

This is such a tricky sickness! Baby couldn't stomach milk, cheese, yoghurt or other diary products but these are very important to his growth! We tried the lactose free soy milk powder which was recommended by the PD but Baby wouldn't accept! :( It's such a challenge making him open his mouth now!

Yesterday, DC learnt from a colleague that the usual powder that Baby is drinking now is lactose-free! Without hesitation, we decided to put his newly bought soy powder aside and continue to feed him with his favorite drink... He's drinking more of it today and his intake today broke his record for this week. *Glad*

I pray that he gets well tomorrow!

Baby's "First" shoes

Went shopping around for baby shoes. We wanted something with a grip at the bottom and a slightly hard exterior to hold his little feet properly.

We found this at KidStyle a few days ago, a Adiddas Disney design. They were offering a $20 trade-in for old shoes so we got it despite it still being too big for Baby A.

It seems that baby shoes are not easy to find. The next day, went to Colette at Tanglin Mall after his music lesson but none of them fit ... Anyway, we are picky too, none of the designs look nice.

Well, off to ION Orchard we went. I knew a place where we always managed to get the baby clothes that we both like. Shortly after, we arrived at Burberry :)

Indeed, we found what we want immediately!

In fact, Baby A was very much interested in a sweater too but it was too big for him. He actually whined when we took it off him ... 识货之人.

Baby Dylan's Baby Shower

Our baby Aaron sort of got promoted. Now he's has a younger cousin and today, we went to attend Baby Dylan's 1st month baby shower. The place is at Barracks Cafe at Dempsey House.

Looks like Dempsey House and Skinny Pizza are both from the same management. Here you have the truffles fries and skinny pizzas too. I had steak hamburgers, which was delicious.

CP had lobster linguine, slightly salty but tasty enough.

Quite a nice setting overall.

Aaron's older cousins. They were so boisterous! Soon, Aaron will be able to join in the fun as well.

Sleepy Baby

Aaron was so tired one day that he fell asleep while taking his porridge. No wonder he was so irritated during the meal.

Here's another one of him sleeping while sitting on the stroller. Cute!

Cutest Pic

Call me a sadist but Baby Aaron looks so cute when he's crying here. He's definitely angry and not in a mood to take photos. Babies ... never in my life did I know that babies have tempers too :D

Baby Photo Shoot

We signed up for 2 photo packages at the Motherhood fair in June. The first one was scheduled on the 26-Aug, when Aaron was just slightly 1 month old. I really like those 5 to 6 weeks old photos of babies. However, baby Aaron was uncooperative. He just would sleep, even after feed. We had such a hard time getting him to "pose" for the camera. He would cry and fidget around.

The photographer was kind enough to allow us to go back another evening to try some more shots. Again we went on 1-Sep. It was the same thing. No luck.

Well, that's our boy. There really wasn't many photos that came out well. We actually had a hard time trying to choose even 6 for the prints! However, we managed this (my favourite):

Photo taking at home

I lost no time in trying out the studio strobe. Had to pull in my Nikon Speedlight to act as the secondary. Some guesswork needed on the light intensity as my lightmeter hasn't arrived yet.

Babies, they just make you want to capture more photos of them :)
