Nov Celebration 2 - Longbar Steakhouse

This year's birthday celebrations is quite special, we have a new member to the family. Naturally, we would like to bring him along with us for the celebrations. However, when I make a reservation at Raffles Longbar Steakhouse, it was with some apprehension as baby Aaron is most fussy in the evening.

It was quite a nice place actually. Tables were placed spaciously apart. The kitchen was an open area. We weren't sitting near the open kitchen so we didn't get the food smell on us.

Well, baby Aaron indeed threw tantrums. We also had to feed him during our meal, CP and I taking turns so that we each can finish our food. Not exactly a fine dining experience but we just accept it that this is going to be a part of our lives.

I had Australian Wagyu steak. Sadly, if you had tried Kobe or Matsusaka beef before, all the other wagyu beef paled in comparison. It was quite nicely done though, slightly charred on the outside and juicy inside. The marbling wasn't even, you can bite into large pieces of fat here and there.

CP had swordfish steak. Not too good actually because it was too thick and chunky a piece. Rather dry.

The food was quite salty and we can actually bite into granules of salt almost all the items we ordered.

Dessert was quite a nice raspberry chocolate fudge cake. The raspberry flavour helps to offset the richness of the chocolate.

Finally, I get a cheeseckae to take home, compliments from AMEX. Nice! Well, baby Aaron's tantrums had certainly make me think twice about bringing him to Les Amis for lunch tomorrow. We'll see ...

A trip to DC's office

I brought Baby to DC's office to show him around, hehe...

The colleagues all adore his long hair, thick eyebrow and smiley face! He was in good mood and was all smiles today! :D

Before leaving, I quickly snapped a picture of DC with Baby. Just look at his screens, DC is such a big fan of our baby! :P

Birthday Celebration for Dad

My twin nephew was running a fever a few weeks ago, so we decided to postpone Dad's birthday celebration till now. It was Indian food this time, a nice change from the usual western or chinese cuisine.

At $35 per person and a 1-for-1 offer using DBS credit cards, I think it's quite a good deal. I like Indian food, but refrain from it as it's usually very oily.

Baby goes swimming

It's Baby's first time swimming and he loves it! At a point, a baby at the other tub was crying out really loudly and he was somewhat affected by the cries but very quickly, he recomposed himself and resumed swimming. Oh Boy, he was kicking so energetically in the water! :D

Hehe, baby created quite a commotion at the shop. The staffs were all ahing and oohing about his long hair and big eyes... and they kept carrying and hugging my baby! :P

Mum's Birthday Celebration 2009

It's Mum's birthday again! :) Dad reminded us weeks ago to reserve Mon so that we could have dinner together but because Ah Boy was having his exams, we had to bring forward the celebration...

Mum insisted on preparing steamboat lunch for us on Sun to celebrate her Lunar birthday. We had a good warm lunch, it reminded me of CNY. :)

Then yesterday, we went to Tam Kah Sharks fin Restaurant in Chinatown to celebrate her Gregorian birthday. The food there was as good as before, it was a pity I had to keep myself off the seafood! The sharks fin soup, 盆菜, peking duck and birds' nest egg tarts are the signature dishes of the restaurant and they were really superb! We were very full after the meal!

I made use of mum's birthday and took the opportunity to show my appreciation to my family members for their help during the past few months... so, as you can guess, the dinner was on me! :)

Happy Birthday, Mummy! Thanks everyone in the family, I love ya! :D

盆菜 - With 8 whole abalones, sea cucumbers, fish maw, roast pork, meatballs, veges. Wholesome goodness!

八丁鱼-Delicious scaleless fish. First time eating it.

Starry Night

★★★★★
This year's D&D theme is: "You are the ST★R. Thank You for shinning with the company." and it's held at Orchard Hotel. I only have one shiny top but there's a maternity top and I don't wish to wear it. Wore a pair of earrings that matched the theme instead. :P The organising committee was very creative to have placed the stage just at the entrance so that everyone could enter the ballroom like a star by walking up the stage and down to their tables! I like that idea! :)
★★★★
This is about the 4th time I went out without baby... missed him lots during the dinner. Saw someone bring her very young baby to the dinner, how I wish I have done that too! DC was very thoughtful to have made use of technology to bring the distance between baby and me shorter - he video called me! :) Hehe, baby was soooo cute, I didn't wait to show him to everyone on the table! My phone was passed round the table with baby telecast 'live' on my phone! :P

I ate really little as most of the dishes that were served were forbidden for me. Didn't win any prizes. If I had known, I would have stayed at home with my baby!
★★★★★
Took some floating yellow & gray balloons back home for him but by the time I'm home, it was too late already to play with him (sleeping time). The next morning, the balloons would have been deflated! :(

Doodle Challenge

Can you turn the squiggle below into a doodle? I'm in love with Okto's latest drawing contest! It makes me itching to draw and create my own doodle!

Here's my masterpiece:

I hope you can make out what I've drawn! It's my smiling dimpled baby boy wearing blue diapers drinking milk! (:P, hehe.. it's about the baby again!)

Some art from the true doodle master, these are some of the amazing pieces of work that i've picked out, all from the same squiggle on top!

Under wraps

The 1st massage didn't work very well. I felt cheated - the sessions were painful, ineffective and expansive! Then, after the 10 unbearable sessions, I managed to get a very popular massage lady. She was very experienced (17 years) and in just one session I could see the difference!

Have been keeping my stomach under wraps for a few weeks already... the wrapping miraculously worked but not for very long. Lots of self-discipline is required if I were to regain my pre-preggie figure and I'm wondering when will that day arrive? My time to return to work is almost up and I'm considering alternatives to speed up the process but let's just keep it under wrap first till the desperation sets in! :P
