Let me in

After our visit to the dentist, we went Cathay Cineleisure to watch this movie.

A rather different vampire show, we found it sad and disturbing too but scary is not the word to describe this supposedly horror movie...

CAST: Chloe Moretz, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Richard Jenkins, Elias Koteas, Cara Buono, Sasha Barrese
DIRECTOR: Matt Reeves
GENRE: Horror/ Thriller
LANGUAGE: English with Chinese Subtitles
RELEASE DATE: 09 Dec 2010
RUNTIME: 115 mins
RATING: NC16 (Violence & Some Nudity)

Chloe Moretz (Hit Girl from Kick-Ass) stars as Abby, a secretive 12-year old girl, who moves next door to Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee, The Road). Owen is a social outcast who is viciously bullied at school and in his loneliness, forms a profound bond with his new neighbour. Owen can't help noticing that Abby is like no one he has ever met before. As a string of grisly murders occupy the town, Owen has to confront the reality that this seemingly innocent girl is really a savage vampire.

Dreadful Dentist Drill

DC and I took leave to visit the dentist today. It was a stressful session, with the dreadful sounds the drill make (Why did technology not advance here and make the process more friendly?)! It makes me ponder why I want to put myself to that amount of stress just to clean up my teeth!

I guess the consolation was that the fees is free (or rather, claimable). :P

A Porky Find

I would never expect to find Kurobuta pork at Tanglin Mall. Feeling hungry, we went for early dinner after Baby A's gym session.

Baby having the runs

Baby has been having the runs since Wed! It started 5-6 times a day until yesterday 3 times and today, 2 times. We've seen the doc and he suspected Baby might have caught stomach virus. DC and I thought the changing of milk powder (in attempt to beef up Baby) caused it.

This is such a tricky sickness! Baby couldn't stomach milk, cheese, yoghurt or other diary products but these are very important to his growth! We tried the lactose free soy milk powder which was recommended by the PD but Baby wouldn't accept! :( It's such a challenge making him open his mouth now!

Yesterday, DC learnt from a colleague that the usual powder that Baby is drinking now is lactose-free! Without hesitation, we decided to put his newly bought soy powder aside and continue to feed him with his favorite drink... He's drinking more of it today and his intake today broke his record for this week. *Glad*

I pray that he gets well tomorrow!

Thai for Gathering

Year end is the time for gathering! An ex-colleague gathered about 10 of us at Bali Thai@Novena Square for dinner. When was the last time we saw one another? We almost lost track!

I saw one last month, five at his wedding and the rest at the steamboat restaurant along Thomson Road (no more)... Wow, 3 years! So, you can imagine we've a lot to update one another!

Of course, first question we asked was "Who's still with the company?".

Three men, DY, KH and JN were still with the company. Each one of them doing different projects, at different places now...

Next was "How many kids do you have now?".

JT was pregnant with her 3rd baby now. It was so coincidental cos I remembered the last time we gathered, she was at her last stage of pregnancy with her 2nd boy! Both SL and me (and I think DY too?) had our babies during this 3 year period too... BB even had 2 (one inside her womb)! Heard that she was due soon...

EL and KK lost weight, LC as pretty, Aunty as busy and Uncle has gone MIA again!

Amid the catching up, we did enjoy our food. The food at Bali Thai was not bad and most importantly, not hot.

We brought Baby along but he was tired and cranky there. We had to bring him back for his sleeptime. Before we go, I had my photo time :)

Shining Star for Shiseido Service

I've something good to share! :)

Ladies, where do you all go to shape your brows? I just found a great place!

I've always shaped my brows during my facial sessions but since after Baby's birth, I've stopped going there even though I still have one more session left...

Recently, I walked into this shop at Suntec and love the skillful lady who served me then but sad to say, the shop closed down last month...

Today I felt that it was high time for a trim and decided to walk into one of the beauty counters at Tangs and was in for a surprise when the first two counters that I stepped into rejected me! The third don't do eyebrow shaping but recommended two other counters... I tried my luck at one. (Yes, I was quite desperate then!) Fortunately, the guy there accepted me (although he has another appointment!)

He was pretty professional about the job and understood my requirements perfectly. After shaping the brows, he offered to apply cleanser, softener, moisturizer and sunblock on me at no cost! Why not? I gladly accepted the offer. If time permits, he might have done the full makeup for me as well! :P Seriously, I'm satisfied with his service.

It's a blessing in disguise that I've to thank God for as the first counter would have earned my $15 but this one doesn't cost me any cent! I later learned that they provide free makeup service as well! *Like*

You can consider going Shiseido next time when you feel like shaping your eyebrow but please do give them (or any other beauty counters) a call to make prior booking and oh, they don't do tweezing.
