Nihon ni ikitai, Nihon e ikimasho!
That's me and DC in the pics preparing for our next trip(yes!) and trying out some coldwears... It was a last minute decision to the country I've always wanted to visit... can't believe it's true, can't wait for next week to come! *Excited* :D

Super wonder woman
Did some stitching at home today... although i took a very long 1 hour just to close the open ends of DC's shorts, I felt absolutely proud of the results! The stitches are strong, neat and not visible! I know this is not an extraordinary task but it really makes my day... it's as if I've transformed a piece of worthless spoilt fabric into something useful and wearable, Ha!
DC was satisfied with my sewing too! :P Besides sewing, I've also done up a lot of household chores today... dead-beat tired now! I feel like a super wonder woman today (unlike the rest of the days :P)!

Not again!
Got an early morning wakeup call from an unknown caller...
"Hello, this is Melissa from HR. Are you joining us?"
I pondered for a while.
"Oh, I thought I'm still on the waiting list? Didn't receive any notification about this..."
She then said she will check for me.
I told her flatly "It's ok, I won't be able to make it now."
And so we missed the chance to the Sungei Buloh Nature Reserve, just like the last time! Who is to blame this time?

Back into Business
Yes, finally able to click and snap on my hp after many days without it! Quite missed the clicking photo-snapping sounds and the semi-touch screen actually! :P
I went for medicure & pedicure treatments today at a newly opened store. Quite satisfied with the service but kind of regretted the nail art design I've chosen the moment I got home... although the classic white flowers on the pink nails look nice, I think i now prefer to have some appliques on my nails, which is the vogue now! :( Next time perhaps?
DC got quite a shock when I told him how much I spent... to him, trimming and shaping nails esp. in a neighbourhood store should not cost much. He is wrong wrong wrong...I should have prepared him earlier. Guys, listen up! The minimal price to expect (for both medicure and pedicure) is $80! Yes, at least $80 and that is without any artwork done on the nails!

Busy Busy Week
Although the weekend is long (there is a public holiday on Friday), it's a super busy one for me.
If possible, I would choose not to bring work back home to do but this time I've no choice. There is an urgent case to discuss on Monday morning right after the team meeting. I just have to finish reading the thick stack of specs (which came in only on Thursday just after work) before the next workweek starts.
Also made use of the long weekend to prepare the materials for today's presentation. It was actually for a segment during our monthly department meeting where every team member has to present something "fun". So far I've seen all talked about their travel experiences. Since I've not been travelling in quite a while (previous trip was 5 months ago), I decided to share DC and my wonderful experience in unwinding and indulging ourselves in SINGAPORE! I did a video of our recent photo shoot which I think was quite well-received. Hehe...
Aside the unpaid time I spent on work at home, we didn't waste the weekend. DC and I actually enjoyed great quality time together...visiting my Ah Ma and Aunt from China, eating good dim sum, getting himself a new PDA phone and myself a PSP, collecting the xbox 360, etc! Life's a little busy, at least it's sweet and good! :)

Red Star Restaurant
Tuck away in a quiet corner on the 7th floor of a nondescript building along Chin Swee Road, it's surpisingly very crowded. There were throngs of people there to have their fill of delicious dim sum. Price-wise is not too expensive but the dim sum is good!

New Sony Stuff
This week, we got ourselves new gadgets. It seems our appetites for things new are never satisfied. So off we went to purchase a Sony Ericsson P1i. I thought it's better to trade in the old SE W880i asap as it kept doing the auto shutdown antic. Anyway, the P1i has the following advantages over the old phone:
1. 3.2 MP camera with auto-focus
2. Wifi
3. PDA
Then we turned our attention to the Sony PSP. Probably with it, it will make a boring train or bus ride less monotonous. Of course, the built in Wifi is icing on the cake as well.
With the Xbox360 also arriving soon from Singnet, I wonder if we will even have time to really utilise them fully. I know I won't for the Xbox ... I am only interested in the "Gears of War" game, hehe ...

My emails are still somewhere out there
I recently subscribed to Singnet again after about 1 year. I naturally used back my old id. So it shouldn't strike me as much of a suprise when my email is set up, I found that I am still receiving a whole lot of emails through this email address. So actually nobody bothers about bounced email. Probably that's why spam is so hard to shake off.
Anyway, this is a good week. Singnet broadband is up (although it was a pain to get the new modem working with my existing wireless router), free XBox 360 coming soon, struck 4-D, bought a new PDA phone. Yep, things are picking up.

My New Magic Wand
Got this mascara recently. I was told to use it everyday so that my lashes will grow longer and curl more upwards... Dunno whether this is true but I'm determined to try it out.
Hope this wand will do some magic to my drooping lashes!
Also bought this eye palette (I'm into neutral makeup, love these brown and beige tones) so that I could take the shimmery white bag home, hehe one more shiny piece to add to my metallic collection...

My HP has got hearing problem!
Just sent in the K880i for repair.
I've actually no complaints about this phone. It has everything I want in a phone: radio, 5MB camera, 3G and good sensitive buttons despite the fact that the phone is slightly bulky. Hence, I was quite disappointed when it became spoilt suddenly. The caller's voice could not be heard no matter how many "hellos" I transmitted. It works only when I turned on the loud speaker or when I put on the headset.
It was quite inconvenient this few days... Luckily we still have a Panasonic backup phone but then, I had to bear the trouble of bringing an extra MP3 player and not able to take any pictures as and when I like! :(
[Edited on 20 Mar: Went to collect my phone at the service center but was so so so disappointed to find that the problem is still present! It can't be discharged yet...have to put it under observation for a few days... What is this?]

The Spiderwick Chronicles
Nice fantasy film, I like! Guess I still prefer magical creatures to ruthless oil man, violent sociopath and tribal hero! :)
Plot:
Peculiar things start to happen the moment the Grace family (Jared, his twin brother Simon, sister Mallory and their mom) leave New York and move into the secluded old house owned by their great-great-uncle, Arthur Spiderwick. Unable to explain the strange disappearances and accidents that seem to be happening on a daily basis, the siblings investigate what’s really going on and uncover the extraordinary truth of the Spiderwick estate and the creatures that inhabit it.

Chocolate goes vintage
Yep, spotted another new addition at Coffee Club. Chocolate mousse made from Valrhona chocolate - Chocolate Delice from Coffee Club.
From Wikipedia:
Valrhona is a French chocolate manufacturer based in the small town of Tain L'Hermitage in Hermitage, a wine-growing district near Lyon. The company was founded in 1924 by a French pastry chef from the Rhône valley and has five subsidiaries and 60 local distributors across the globe. It is today one of the leading producers of chocolate in the world. The company also maintains the École du Grand Chocolat, a school for professional chefs with a focus on chocolate-based dishes and pastries.

Let's Shine!
Metallic will rule 2008! *Nod*Nod*..Yes, I am under the influence of the metallic trend now.
Just bought a metallic bag from Aldo. Can't decide whether to get gold or silver colour... I actually quite like the gold one but in the end got silver as DC prefers the futuristic silver better.
Now that I've got myself a metallic bag, I'll be looking out for metallic accessories and clothing with high glitz factor. It's time to shine now! :)

Knowing that I love to eat crabs, DC brought back chilli crabs from the No Sign Board Seafood restaurant. The crabs are sooo sooo BIG, I couldn't resist the temptation and dug into the supper! Luckily the chilli wasn't too hot, else it'll be such a waste! Yummy yummy! :)

What's for dinner tonight?
It's Dad's 61st birthday tonight. We had a sumptuous and long dinner at the same place where he held his 60th birthday last year. Somehow, we felt that food today tasted much better than last year... We had mee sua, sharks' fins soup and there was also a roast pig on the table! It was just too bad everyone was already very full by the third dish, otherwise I would love to order an additional dish of crabs! :P
爸爸,我祝您福如东海寿比南山,年年有今日岁岁有今朝!
P.S. It was quite a surprise to know that Ah Boy remembered that he was there last year to celebrate Dad's birthday. Not only that, he actually remembered the relatives that were present! That's quite an amazing memory, isn't it? :)

See Me Fly
Here goes a selected portion from one of my favorite song lyrics:
...see me fly,
i'm proud to fly up high...
...believe me i can fly,
i'm singing in the sky...
...let me fly,
i'm proud that i can fly...
I had the chance to be the first few Singaporeans to go onboard Singapore's latest attractions, the Singapore Flyer free all thanks to the company! Yeah! :D
The Entrance
The Capsule
The View From the Top
The High Flyer
The Singapore Flyer stands at 165 metres.
Each capsule can comfortably accommodate up to 28 people.
Duration of one ride is about 30 minutes.
This was much enjoyable than the ducktours! View is nice and the capsule is spacious.
Some bad points though:
- Some of us experienced headaches after the flight.
- The sky was overcast with dark clouds but luckily, we went there early at 2:30pm. Heavy rain only poured when our "flight" reached destination.
- The capsule does not stop, we have to hop in when we board and alight.
- The capsule is moving at a super supper slooooowwww speed that by the time it reaches the highest point, I was bored.
- I find the price for the express boarding ($52) and signature cocktail flight ($69) too costly. I can't imagine how much it would have cost if dinner is provided!!
